Yum!

The food was great. Slightly different than your typical Indian cuisine, in a good way. My only gripe is that the service was fairly slow.

The food was absolutely delicious, the presentation was beautiful. We started with the Ginger Lamb Chops, they were aromatic and very tasteful. The Chicken Akbari was savory and tasty. They make their own Naan bread, we had the cheese stuffed Naan bread, it was exquisite. We can tell they work hard to serve the best food and that they love... More

I've had Indian food in many places in the world and with no doubt I can say this place is one of the best if not the best Indian food I ever had. Nothing else to add. Delicious

This was a very unassuming place, but the food was wonderful. My husband and I went here for dinner and split a few dishes. Portions were very large and the spice level was perfect.

This restaurant has seen better times, from the outdated decor and furniture to the tired look and countenance of the counter staff. The lamb chops were lukewarm and raw, the tandoori chicken was burnt and the service somewhat sloppy. The cheese naan was probably the only saving grace. One member of our party did not want her food served "dinner... More

I would love to have an Indian restaurant like this in my neighborhood! Service was solid and friendly. My friend ordered the Dal and absolutely loved it. I had the chicken Tikka mars alla - delicious. I also enjoyed Indian beer Taj.

Ate lunch here while staying at the nearby Inn at Marina Del Rey. Lunch prices were around $7 and included Naan, Dal, and a cucumber side salad along with chosen entree. The small dining room is cute, and the waitress was excellent. We enjoyed it!

What's nice about Akbar is that it's so authentic and still a sit-down, even romantic spot. It's not a bit like many other American-ized Indian restaurants, with heavier cream bases or tomato sauce-type bases. We've been here a number of times - this is the first time we've had the okra - which I could have made a meal of... More

We love Indian food, and Akbar (at least the one in MDR) is our favorite Indian restaurant. The food is always very good. We have taken various family and friends here, and it never disappoints. Akbar is a very small restaurant, does not take reservations for small groups, and can get very busy at prime hours, so there can be... More

When by wife and I are hungry for a good Indian dinner in the neighborhood, this is where we go. They will adjust the spiciness to your specifications. Prices are reasonable for the area.
