Authentic Italian food in a charming environment

My husband and I went to Locanda Positano last week for the first time. I had purchased a Groupon for dinner for two. The restaurant is quite small and charming. We started by sharing a salad. It had thinly sliced baby artichokes with baby wild arugola and shaved parmesan cheese. It was... read more

I went here because it was close to my hotel and based on the reviews. I ordered the LINGUINE ALLA POSITANO after seeing it served to another customer. I did look great and the sauce was very good and there was a plentiful amount of seafood in the dish that was beautifully arranged. The problem was that right after the... More

The truffle tasting menu was very disappointing. The appetizer was very large then the main course small. Confusing. And the gnocchi was mushy. Very unsatisfying. The food that other tables had around us looked great. So much for a tasting menu

After dining at Locando Positano seven or eight times, I can decisively say it's one of my favorite Italian restaurants in LA. Oh Locando, let me count the ways I love thee... Your attentive and impeccable service: From the initial greeting, to beverage refills to the subtle removal of plates without intruding on conversations. Your lasagna, pasta locando with a... More

This is a very small restaurant (maybe 30 people) and if you are unfortunate to be there with a loud group at one table (as we were) you won't be able to hear yourself think, let alone hear what your dining mate is saying from across the table. An extremely loud group of eight disrupted the evening for everyone else... More

Nice little hole in the whole in the wall. Food was very flavorful, definitely suggest the squid ink pasta and seafood, my wife had the rack if lamb and that was also very well prepared. Only negative is the the place can feel a life cramped.

Not all Italian restaurants are created equal. Most don't resemble what you would find in Italy. Locanda Postiano is the closest dining experience to meals I have had in Italy. The food, the service, the beautifully simple decor.

Locanda Positano is located on Lincoln Boulevard in the Marina del Rey area. Our party had dinner in the rear dining space, which has large tables, wine racks, art and is great for a famly/friend event. The menu was enticing and every item was hot, delicious and enjoyable. The service was very good. I initially thought the pasta portions might... More

Delicious! Steamed clams and mussels - the sauce/broth was soooo good. A salad with the artichokes was great, not too sour, just perfect. Pasta with rapini and sausage was done just right - not too much sauce, generous sausage amount, very comforting dish. Will be back asap. The staff was very nice and attentive. Wine recommendation was spot on.

This gem in the heart of Marina del Rey is always a treat, the food is tasty and hot along with a great wine selection. We have eaten there two times before, however this night must have been an off night, slow to no service, food was tough and barely warm, the wine was the best part of the meal.... More
