Great Greek Restaurant

Petrie is a great Greek restaurant at Metlox in Manhattan Beach. They have very fresh fish selections, Greek specialties, along with other great meat and seafood and pasta. My wife loves their lemon soup. Prices are fairly high, but I've always had great service, quality food, and nice experiences... read more

It was too chilly in the evening for us to enjoy the patio even with the heaters going, so we dined inside. The restaurant is attractive with subdued colors and many candles lit. The food was very good. The ladies with me had the rack of lamb. I had meatballs and mashed potatoes. The wine selection was good, but one... More

Consistent, varied Greek standards updated, imaginative California takes on Greek dishes, a decent wine list, nice outdoor terrance, good and friendly wait staff. We go there when in Manhattan Beach and it hasn't disappointed.

The restaurant is located in a courtyard off the main drag, which made it a little quieter (it was Halloween), good when I had been travelling all day. Outside seating was nice, wait staff was very friendly, even to costumed children who came in. Food was terrific, and it had a bar that clearly drew some of the young professionals... More

This was my first visit to this eatery. It was highly recommended, so I took a large group of visitors there. The location is great (just a block from the beach), although difficult to get to if one is not staying in the area. The 405 freeway is tricky during dinner hours. The menu is varied. The eggplant dip was... More

Why is it that we are all sitting indoors in the beach cities instead of enjoying the sunshine while we dine outside? Oh, legislation, that's why. Not at Petros! You can enjoy lovely, creative food and a beautiful wine list while sitting out on the patio. The only problem for Petros is that it's so enjoyable we don't even want... More

I couldn't get in on the weekend but had a lovely seat at the bar for dinner on Sunday night. Big menu and good drinks.

We were two times within few days in this restaurant during our holiday, once at lunch after the beach and the second time for dinner. The menu is so large that we decided to share various different meals, without repeating on the second visit what we had already tasted in order to try more meals. Both times we were delighted... A native Greek chef creates a California-Greek version of his native island favorites. The calamari with almonds and lemon wheels makes the dish divine. The spanikopita is light and has just a hint of dill in the filo to give it its unique quality. Mmmmmmmmm.

It's not just the authentic greek food, or the stellar customer service, or the ambiance of Petros, but the overall dining experience is simply top notch at this restaurant. Imagine this: candlelit tables under a tent-like overhang, in the fresh and salty sea air, people sitting in couples as well as large groups, gathering together to sip wine and delight... More
