This is a boutique like hotel/restaurant with comfortable outdoor seating, and yes, large shades to filter out the sun when it could be a nuisance. In particular we loved the breakfast fritatta. It comes in an iron like skillet and is an egg creation that is served with a fruit cup and won't hurt your waistline!

When I checked in it was a thriving bar scene with indoor and outdoor tables and the "in" crowd. The next morning, it was a relaxed upscale breakfast buffet for hotel guests. Very good in both regards. My friend who lives in Manhattan Beach comes here all the time and swears by it. So from locals and travelers alike -... More

I don't like to have to yell at the person I am speaking too when dining. Music was too loud but food was good. Nice size menu

My friends and I had brunch at Zinc today and it was wonderful! We were a big group. Not only was it super easy to make a reservation for 18 people and a number of small dogs, it was also such a pleasant experience. Everyone was fantastic! Our servers did an amazing job waiting on a large group and the... More

Good menu variety and our meals were delicious. Staff is very friendly and provide quick service. Their outside patio is great for people watching. Wonderful breeze.

Before taking a late flight to Fiji from LAX we wanted to be sure we ate some non-airplane food before leaving! Zinc was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. We made reservations online before going to LA. They gave us a nice high table outside which allowed us to do some excellent LA people-watching! We shared fried... More

We had wanted to stop here after flying in from LAX before heading toward our hotel. The website made it seem (since they host weddings) that our cross country travel attire might just be too casual. .. wrong! After taking forever to park, we came up from the parking garage near the outside dining. Very casual and comfortable. The food... More

Didn't eat, but dropped in for a late afternoon cappuccino. Nice, friendly service and breeze from the ocean...good for relaxing and chatting- no loud music to compete with your conversation. I will come back to have lunch as the menu looked great.

I checked out Zinc at Shade Hotel for lunch today. The grilled cheese with tomato soup was really a great presentation and was just perfect for an appetizer. The Red Snapper on polenta and the grilled asparagus was wonderful and light. We sat in the covered patio which was perfect. Service was great!
