This is a must-stop restaurant where I always go when in MB. Food is much better than national Mexican chains and atmosphere consistent with the casual beach-centric atmosphere of the community. Chile rellenos are superb, MB mural is outstanding. For true local flavor visit their restaurant on Rosecrans near Highland. Truly informal surfer-style counter service.

Being a local ... I have to say for a counter top, staple of "The North End" of Manhattan Beach, El Tarasco is just great! The counter folks that work there are super friendly, nice, helpful ... and the food is great. This isn't gourmet, but it's perfect for a quick traditional Mexican fix ... I love their tacos, enchiladas... More

I moved away from L.A. years ago but every time I get back I go here. Food is authentic and consistent with huge portions. Over the years I got married and now visits are a family affair. Now they make sure we always visit.

Stopped here at 11 pm on our way home. It's a tiny place with limited seating but oh so good! We had the chicken enchiladas and the chilies rellenos. I didn't know what to expect but I am so happy we stopped.

This is one of the 5 El Tarasco restaurants I have visited. The food was on the same level as the El Segundo main location. The bar and cooking area are visible and open. The bathroom is nicest of all locations. This old building has many age scars and deeply pitted wooden floors. It has been decorated with picket fencing... More

Co-worker I was traveling with knew about this restaurant from when he lived in LA. Ate lunch here before our meeting. Great experience! If I ever get back to LA I'm definitely going back. Huge tasty burrito and their salsa is one of the best I've had.

...or Junior Super Deluxe, or the No. 7 (two tacos rice and beans). Large drink and you are set. Plenty of chips and salsa. Just be careful not to sit on the "bump" in the floor. Best post-surf meal around.

Hole in the wall type of place, great foods, had the chicken enchiladas which were delish, service was good, very local authentic type of place, Spanish music in the background and a bunch of locals eating lunch.

I first stopped in El Tarasco back in July and we loved it so much that we went back a second time. I also traveled to Manhattan Beach again in September and made sure not to miss it!! It has so much character... it's a tiny "hole in the wall" taco joint with excellent food! As everyone else has said,... More

Its "tight" bar seating in this little dive taco shack. The chips and salsa are good and the burritos are typical baja style for the area. Its good enough for a stop but not a destination.
