Good Italian eats

We've been there a couple times it's a really good family restaurant. Not a big place though typical beach community size. We all had spaghetti and shared a pizza. Good food moderately priced.

The place was kid friendly, my 3 year old got to make his own pizza, and our meals were amazing the flavors just melted in our mouths. Lobster raviolis with their famous pink sauce was to die for. The Chef walked around making sure everyone was doing okay, which I have never experienced in my life and thought that was... More

Even though they were flat out busy the service was excellent and the food was great. We waited 15 mins for a table and they were bringing out garlic knots for everyone who was waiting and just being super freindly.

I spend most of my time traveling the country. I walked upon the small restaurant form the pier and if I hadn't to ask Heidi for a spoon to eat my spaghetti, I would have thought I was in a small mom & pop Italian diner in the northeast. Excellent homemade sauce and meatballs, great garlic bread and superb service... More

Stumbled upon this gem on our over night stay in Manhattan beach before returning back home to New Jersey. The food was Great and the service even better. Our server truly seemed to be loving her job... Not like some of the places back home. The complimentary home made ravioli appetizer was to die for! Had a chicken cacciatore like... More

On a recent business trip to LA area, a colleague and I were looking for a nice dinner location the night before we returned home. We stumbled on Mama D's. The atmosphere reminded me of some family style Italian restaurants found in New York City and Long Island. It was a nice change of pace from your typical trendy restaurants... More

I love their bread, The staff is also so great! The wait is typically really long so if you are looking for something quick, I wouldn't recommend it. But the wait is worth it!

Convenient location led us to have lunch as we passed by on our way back from the beach. Our server gave us a complimentary Amuse Bouche of Ravioli. The kids had the option to assemble their own pizza which I thought was fantastic! We all enjoyed our pizza and pasta dishes - great tomato sauces. We also received complimentary cookies... More

We were wondering around downtown Manhattan Beach having just arrived from No Cal and looking for quick reasonable price dinner. Notice people standing in front of Mama D's looked like a happy busy place, lots of families. Wait wasn't long and well worth it. Had a delightful waiter who showed interest in my grandson, he has a 2 yr old.... More

Mama D's is a mainstay for my trips to LA. I think it has gone down a bit over the years with a heavy reliance on garlic now but it s still good solid food and the bread is to die for. There is always a wait which is a good sign. We ordered a variety of dishes. The kids... More
