This place is small and usually packed, so you may have to wait to be seated. The food is good, servers are friendly and great service. Worth a visit.

Well now it is not the original Mama D's kitchen(I grew up with the original Mama D lol) but the food was soo good. It is small and we had to wait but it was soooo worth the wait. While waiting the staff came out with things to try while we were waiting. Huge bowl of butter garlic rolls-yummy. Ravioli,... More

We had not gone to Mama D's in over a year and decided to try it again. We arrived around 8:00 PM, and the place was quite busy; however, we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The server was friendly, and while busy, was attentive. We split a chopped Italian salad which was just the right... More

Terrific Italian food in a family atmosphere. Can get really crowded and loud with lots of families. Not the place for a romantic dinner, in my opinion. But fun to come with family and friends. I do wish they would stop the practice of having the waiters shake your hand. Given all the hands they shake in an evening. and... More

Mama D's tries hard to earn your respect. And I respect them for that. Kids are treated to lots of freebies, wait staff learns your names, food is served outside while you wait... It is truly a very pleasant place to spend an evening, if you don't mind the food. Sadly, the food is not Italian - but they are... More

My friend came to visit and she was craving Italian food. We looked at the menu here as well as Mangiamo and she chose Mama D's. What a cute place! Very casual atmosphere, complete with the red/white checked table cloths. Very friendly waiter and since we were there around 9pm, it was not busy at all. The garlic knots are... More

We were visiting from Texas and met up with family on manhattan beach. After a full day in the sun, we were starving. We walked by and received a sample of garlic bread and we were hooked. Our group of 10 + were treated like family and the food was utterly incredible. This is a must-experience eatery.

After spending the day with a friend and her 4 year old grandson, I asked someone where we could find the best pizza in the area. Ironically, we were 2 storefronts away. She told me that Mama D's was rated #1. We went and ordered a pizza. They gave us each a free ravoli and homemade choc chip cookie at... More

Year round, it is a treat for me to walk the 35 minutes to Mama D's Italian Restaurant because I really like their meatballs. Their pizza is cooked to perfection; pasta dishes are sooooo delicious; free bread with garlicky dips is welcomed; and the servers are well informed, playful, and fun. Did I mention that their meatballs are the best!... More
