Stumbled upon this gem on our over night stay in Manhattan beach before returning back home to New Jersey. The food was Great and the service even better. Our server truly seemed to be loving her job... Not like some of the places back home. The complimentary home made ravioli appetizer was to die for! Had a chicken cacciatore like... More

On a recent business trip to LA area, a colleague and I were looking for a nice dinner location the night before we returned home. We stumbled on Mama D's. The atmosphere reminded me of some family style Italian restaurants found in New York City and Long Island. It was a nice change of pace from your typical trendy restaurants... More

I love their bread, The staff is also so great! The wait is typically really long so if you are looking for something quick, I wouldn't recommend it. But the wait is worth it!

Convenient location led us to have lunch as we passed by on our way back from the beach. Our server gave us a complimentary Amuse Bouche of Ravioli. The kids had the option to assemble their own pizza which I thought was fantastic! We all enjoyed our pizza and pasta dishes - great tomato sauces. We also received complimentary cookies... More

We were wondering around downtown Manhattan Beach having just arrived from No Cal and looking for quick reasonable price dinner. Notice people standing in front of Mama D's looked like a happy busy place, lots of families. Wait wasn't long and well worth it. Had a delightful waiter who showed interest in my grandson, he has a 2 yr old.... More

Mama D's is a mainstay for my trips to LA. I think it has gone down a bit over the years with a heavy reliance on garlic now but it s still good solid food and the bread is to die for. There is always a wait which is a good sign. We ordered a variety of dishes. The kids... More

Usually a wait to get in---the restaurant isn't that big, but it's worth the wait. Delicious "down home" Italian food. They also give out samples of garlic bread, etc. while everyone is waiting. Service is great, and typically fast even if they are busy (which is most of the time). It's a very short walk to the Pier while you... More

Was with 5 other business associates a couple weeks ago. Brought them down for dinner after long day of meetings so we could at least smell the ocean:) (from St. Louis!). Most other places had 1-2 hour wait times. I have been to Mahattan Beach many times and knew about Mama's (ate their solo a couple times) so ran up... More
