Great Seafood

Wonderful restaurant, great bar, very nicely decorated and the food was fantastic.Service was also excellent. Can be a little loud when filled because of the openness of the dining area and the high ceilings. Don't let deter you...the food makes up for the noise.

Close to the ocean, nice patio area, but extremely crowded and noisy. We were lucky, I feel, to sit up stairs, not as noisy, and tables were definitely separated more generously. Service was good, the waitress had some trouble with the wine, brought the wrong bottle originally, eventually discovered the wine we had ordered. We enjoyed the food, nothing special... More

We can't repeat enough that this is the kind of restaurant that almost reaches perfection to us. Excellent and beautiful location, open terrace, easy parking, warm welcome, intelligent and efficient service, delicious and light meals (we had the salmon and the mahi mahi). Entrees always come with two choices on the side from fries to rice over vegetables and even... More

Excellent food, good service, and the view of the ocean through the palms (on the outside porch) is hard to beat. On a hot day, the cold drinks in the shade while having lunch by the ocean will be a repeated destination for us. Steamed mussels, grilled king salmon, and boiled prawns were perfectly done. Add some tall beers and... More

The food here is good--not great--but really good. Service is also very good. Large selection of items on the menu prepared in a traditional American style. Some things, however, are REALLY good--and that would be the artichokes prepared on a grill. Sooo good!!! Have been here a number if times and it remains a favorite venue for fish and people... A number of my friends who visit L.A. on business ask to be taken directly to Rockn'Fish and order a round of Navy Grog. There is something here for every one and it is right next to the iconic Pier.

I've been here a few times over the years while on business. They get everything right and the views of the beach are awesome at sunset. Not many tables face the beach, so If you want to just have drink to watch the sunset, go across the street to The Strand House restaurant. It's all glass and faces the beach.... More

A friend who recently relocated to LA brought us here for dinner. ATMOSPHERE: Nice location near the beach, but they sure pack everyone in like sardines. There's a small outdoor lanai, small bar, and a loft-like second level where we sat. MENU: Seafood apps, entrees, sandwiches. FOOD: Maui Style Pok'e - Being from Hawaii and a pok'e fan, I think... My friends have dined here before so they took us here for lunch before we left California and what a meal to have too! The staff were lovely and helpful, and the menu was fantastic. It took us all so long to choose what to have as everything looked so good. My husband had the swordfish which he thoroughly enjoyed... More
