Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2007.

Always great!

The food is always fantastic! The only issue I have is that they keep taking my favorites off the menu. If a restaurant has something I really like, I go back to get the same thing all the time. It started with the Lobster ravioli and now the lasagna. Now my must have is the Penne Alla Vodka... read more

We eat here frequently and it never disappoints anyone we've ever taken here. The service is great. Some of the waiters are even Italian. The menu is varied and the monthly regional specialty menu is always filled with unique options. The antithesis to places like Buca so Beppo that seem to cater to families. it is more like a fine... We have been to many Il Fornaio Restaurants in other locations and know that they are quite good. We opted to try this one on a recent trip to Manhattan Beach. We were not disappointed. The location is a bit odd as it is in a pad building in a retail shopping center but you would not know it after... More

This restaurant used to be better. The four of us each had something different and none of us were excited about any of the entrees we got. I personally had the pasta with meat ragu and it was odd tasting. The meat was not what I expected at all. My husband had a ravioli dish that was very so-so. The... More

As a frequent business traveler to the area, this Il Fornaio is consistently impressive in its menu excellence, wine choices, food quality and service. I've dined here over 15 times in the last year and thoroughly enjoyed every single meal.

We dined here on Father's Day. The restaurant was full but not overcrowded like most places on a holiday. The food was very good and everything came out hot and in a timely manner. The service was not so good we had to find the waiter to get drinks ect. but considering it was a holiday I'll let that slide... More

The food and service was exceptional. We especially enjoyed the 3 course taste of campanina. The portions were just right for a leisurely comfortable dining experience.
