Description: Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2007.

Every time I visit an Il Fornaio I have a great experience, and this time was no exception. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. The service was very friendly. They have a big selection on their menu and everything I've had there is delicious. The food also comes out surprisingly quick. I would definitely recommend eating here for... More

I have been to many restaurants and this was my worst experience ever. The service was horrible, late, food cold, and our order was wrong. Never received a sorry from anyone!! We are not going back.

Il Fornaio has been a family favorite for years and is consistently delicious. Their regional specials are authentic and inventive, and the regular menu is always wonderful. The team at Il Fornaio makes us feel "at home." They never fail to welcome us warmly and make us feel special, even when it is not a "special occasion." From the fresh... More

Lovely restaurant, well-located, good service, but tasteless food. I thought it was just me, so returned with friends yesterday to try it again. I see others here said the food was excellent...my food has always been poorly seasoned and cooked in way too much oil. My cousin sent her soup back because oil was just floating on top. That's not... More

This our third visit to the restaurant and each time it has been wonderful. This time we both had the Grilled Wild Alaskan Salmon with Mashed Potatoes. We also had the tiramisu for dessert. The bread that we were given . before ordering was very fresh and I really loved the olive rolls. I had the house chaniti and it... More

Il Fornaio, Manhattan Beach is my all time favorite restaurant. It is the closest Italian experience outside of Italy. The ambiance is amazing, and the food is delicious! Chef Vicente's cooking class is so much fun; We never miss it!

The food was very much like you would get in Italy, except the bread here is softer. Also there is more space between tables here. The food was very good and the service was fine. I would definitely eat here again.

We dined at several Il Fornaio in San Francisco, Walnut Creek and now here in Manhattan Beach. They come so close to being excellent, but there is always something that falls short. The breads are consistently delicious and they have their own label of wines and both the Chardonnay and Chianti were very nice. This was a dinner and we... More

I have been to this and other Il Fornaio locations before and always had a good experience but this time they were very disappointing. I came with a group of 8 associates. The service was incredibly slow and nonchalant. The food was expensive and a little cold. If this is their standard these days they are in trouble. I wished... More
