Description: Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2007.

Il Fornaio, Manhattan Beach is my all time favorite restaurant. It is the closest Italian experience outside of Italy. The ambiance is amazing, and the food is delicious! Chef Vicente's cooking class is so much fun; We never miss it!

The food was very much like you would get in Italy, except the bread here is softer. Also there is more space between tables here. The food was very good and the service was fine. I would definitely eat here again.

We dined at several Il Fornaio in San Francisco, Walnut Creek and now here in Manhattan Beach. They come so close to being excellent, but there is always something that falls short. The breads are consistently delicious and they have their own label of wines and both the Chardonnay and Chianti were very nice. This was a dinner and we... More

I have been to this and other Il Fornaio locations before and always had a good experience but this time they were very disappointing. I came with a group of 8 associates. The service was incredibly slow and nonchalant. The food was expensive and a little cold. If this is their standard these days they are in trouble. I wished... More

We went here for a family event. I really, really liked the food (I've been to other Il Fornaios but this was my first visit to the Manhattan Beach location). My husband and I shared their mixed seafood grill and a chopped salad, The seafood grill was out of this world. Everything was perfectly cooked. Elegant atmosphere, attentive service. Prices... More

The decor is upscale, service excellent. Bread is freshly baked and delicious. Crusty rolls with olive slices were fabulous. Did not love the food. The special salad of the day (with apples and walnuts and raisins and Brie) contained almost no Brie but was drenched in an overly sweet raspberry vinaigrette that rendered the dish almost inedible. Caesar salad was... More

We had a late lunch here on a Monday for about 10 people. The service was a bit slow considering the place was fairly empty (the restaurant is large). The food was not particularly memorable but the prices were reasonable, especially given that the atmosphere is actually quite nice and formal. Bread and olive oil were delicious. The dessert cart... Business travel. Restaurant choices near LAX are thin. Short drive and worth the visit. Food and wine was good. Nice portions, good service. Worth a repeat visit when staying near LAX

The restaurant is beautiful, but the good is only slightly above average. Not the Italian food that we were looking for. We had high expectations than what this restaurant provided.
