Cookies is closed - new restaurant opened "Ollo"

Cookies Restaurant closed in early May and after extensive remodel has reopened as "Ollo". We stopped to check it out and the inside is totally different now. They have a full bar and it seems like about 25% fewer tables. The booths have been replaced with sort of "love seats" and tables and... read more

Fuel for your body. Breakfast all day and the chili is very good. Its fine but not a place to search out for a foodie.

Coogie's is usually a pretty solid meal. Very good food, occasionally some inconsistent service (longer wait times and sometimes waitstaff isn't as attentive), but most of the time it's pretty on target. Salads are huge (and fresh), breakfasts are fantastic. Sandwiches and burgers are very solid offerings, and I'm never sorry I ordered their soup! I've been going here for... More

We were passing through Malibu on our way back to Santa Barbara and stopped at Coogies for dinner. We had eaten here a couple of years before and had a good meal, so why not again? We're glad we did. My wife had the Chopped Salad and I had the Coogies Burger and both were excellent! And so was the... More

I can't count how many times I've had breakfast or lunch at Coogies over the years. I have to say the breakfasts have always been good.....but the service so so. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there as a destination restaurant...only if you happen to be hungry while you happen to be walking past it. It's not... More

As a local from Malibu, I have eaten at Coogies many times over the years and have always rated it pretty well. Today was different, the service was slow, even though it was not real busy. The drinks did not come until after the food arrived. The food seemed about the same quality, 4 stars, but the atmosphere seemed off... More

The food was good. Service was excellent. The most thing I enjoyed was the orange juice it was delicious. We had the breakfast and it was good. Pancakes we're tasty. They also have lunch and dinner menu. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants good food and great service.

We were looking for a quick meal and stumbled upon Coogies. Have to love that name. It is facing PCH in a small mall. Parking was easy and it was pretty crowded for a weekday lunch. Wide variety of options. Settled on their equivalent of a BLT. The applewood smoked bacon was fantastic and the artichokes were fresh. Fries were... More

Good food at a terrific neighborhood restaurant. Excellent nearby parking. Our server was very helpful and efficient. The pesto pasta with added chicken and the Mediterranean platter with chicken skewers were both very good and the portion size very generous. Both dishes came with a salad - nice touch. I also ordered the vegetable soup - ver fresh and tasty.

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
