Great spot but don't believe the calamari hype

This is a great spot, right on the beach - when you're in the outer area (where we sat was outside, covered, and in a an area that had clear panels on the sides, feet in the sand). There's a ton of seating on the inside as well, and appeared to be other truly outdoor tables, but those weren't... read more

Yes, the place is a little overpriced, but why wouldn't that be expected? It's Malibu; its a high rent area. As some have expressed, it's crowded. It's a popular place, so it would be crowded. We waited at least 30 min the day we visited. The ambiance at this restaurant is great. One can choose to sit inside or out.... More

If you're in Malibu or driving through, stop here!! If you sit outside, you not only are on the beach but are sitting with your feet literally in the sand. Seriously, you'll be taking your shoes off. The food is good and the portions are huge. Service is great and very happy. Plus, they validate parking which was a huge... More

Can't agree with some of these reviews. I love the casual out door dinning. They have a good menu, a good brunch, friendly service and great drinks. It so tropical, and the ocean views are worth a few extra dollars spent. My whole family enjoyed it and I've been several times on other trips to Malibu. It's one of our... More

The food is only fair and way over priced. You are there for the ocean view, Malibu history, drinking on the beach and interesting people watching. The crowd on the beach can get unruly at times. This is no longer the family beach place that it was years ago. However, if you have never been to Paradise Cove and you... More

It's not high end but i loved it. It's an old fashioned beach cafe on one of my favourite beaches. Fried seafood and mayonnaise and ketchup dips and you get the idea. It all done well, friendly staff and a cool location.

The food is just OK, and you are paying a premium price tag. I've had service be average to appalling. Save your money and get the same view and great service at Malibu Seafood just down the road.

Paradise Cove has a fun, family friendly atmosphere right on the beach. You can have a drink and sit in a variety of chairs set up in the sand (beer or wine in bottles or cans only, no hard alcohol) while you wait for your table. The menu is pretty standard American fare with some local fish options, but seems... More

A very nice spot. Good food, but a bit crowdy..... The beach and the view is fantastic. Going back for sure :)

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
