Malibu beach classic

Classic restaurant located on the beach in Malibu. Amazing views and worth the trip. Food is not bad we enjoyed the giant bowl of calamari and blackened fish sandwich was killer. We are from Boston, MA and a good friend of ours who's lived in CA for many years recommended this place on our first visit to SoCal. Yes, it's a bit touristy, but locals and residents frequent this ON THE BEACH eatery,( for real), and there's a long wait (even with reservations) BUT you can wait ON A NICE BEACH.... More

You are ON the beach, cheap parking, great view, people watching. Outside is on the sand, but covered. The appatizers are four 4 people.

You haven't been to Malibu unless you have been to this Cafe. I recommend the fish tacos. The fried food is hit or miss. Don't go here if you are in a hurry. You go here to linger!

The location here makes everything better and that's a must for the average food. Friendly staff, great view and lively but the food is not what you came for.

This is a very popular restaurant by the beach with a big terrace in the sand. There is always a waiting for the outside part, but depending on when you visit it can be from 15 min. The reception is great, you get your lobster buzzer to alert you for your table is ready. In the meantime you can have... More

Servings are very large, but quality varies a lot. The clam chowder was excellent, and the ribs mixed plate was good. The calamari tasted of old oil, and came heaped on top of french fires which also tasted of old oil. They will charge you $6 for self-parking in their lot.

Not easy to find if your not sure where your going. But what an oasis on the sea. A little small on the inside, but you just can't sit inside here as the views are priceless. Service was great, food and drink to, but this is 100% location location location I'm afraid, more than any other factor. Stunning and a... More

Whether you live in So Cal or are visiting, there are just some times all you want to do is pull up to a beach, have a few drinks, maybe some appetizers, dinner possibly, and just take in the scene. Unfortunately that is easier said than done along the coast as the choices for dining right on the sand are... More

We went here on Easter Sunday for breakfast, so it was not crowded. The restaurant flows onto the beach and you can sit inside or outdoors. The crowd is eclectic and so is the place. Lots of fun decorations. The breakfast menu had a wide variety of choices. Many good ones so it was hard to chose. All of our... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
