The main attraction here is the location -- right across frome the ocean at Zuma Beach. There is a dining room upstairs but I don't know if it is always open to the public or set aside for private parties. The main room downstairs, which has lots of tables with nice views, is really noisy. The bar area on the... More

We spent a breezy Sunday walking Westward Beach on our first visit to Malibu. By chance we decided to try The Sunset for brunch at about 2:00 pm. No wait and a delicious meal that was a reasonable price for the location. All three of us enjoyed different egg dishes. The waiter was especially friendly and made us feel like... More

A breathtaking setting literally on the beach. We stumbled across this hidden gem for lunch. Food was great along with the attentive wait staff. The only callout would be the hostess was not a very pleasant person.

We had a large group (35) for a special function on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We were seated in the large upstairs dinning room with a nice view of the beach. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We pre-ordered three different casual lunch menu items, a burger, a pasta dish and fish tacos. They were... More

We booked a Saturday night reservation on Friday, day prior. I phoned Friday afternoon and specifically asked if we could be seated in the upstairs dining room. I was "assured" this was confirmed for upstairs dining room. TWO HOURS prior to dinner reservation, the restaurant calls to inform me that the upstairs dining room was JUST BOOKED for a "last... We have been walking by this restaurant hundreds of times before and we always labeled it by its outside appearance as another oceanside shack, fried food and beer. But when one day we got a Groupon deal, as we were coming back from Point Dume, we decided to stay for dinner. It was one of our best restaurant experiences ever,... More

We had a wonderful lunch there. We had window seating with a spectacular view of the ocean and beach. The fish and chips and the fish tacos were very good. The artichoke, arugula salad was very tasty. Servings were ample. We would return.

We had a long time to sit and wait and watch people in this place. A lot of time to watch people arrive 20-30 mins after us and have food on their table before our meal arrived. And after an hour our meal came out wrong. We left we went some place else. We won't return. But thank you for... More

We sought out a place based on location - and were very happy with the service and food. The fish dishes were excellent, risotto was very well done, and the salads were well designed and delivered. We will definitely go back on a day with more sun

The Sunset was recommended to us upon arrival at our Malibu destination. We made it our first dinner stop and were not disappointed. We arrived with no reservation and were seated promptly. A shaved artichoke salad that we shared started a delicious meal. Portions are quite large, and we should have shared entrees, too. Unusual for our travels, we chose... More
