The Reel Inn is Reel Good. The food is simple and fresh and tasty. Located right off the side off PCH, (Highway 1), the Reel Inn is a go to for fresh seafood. If the parking lot is full park across the highway at Topanga beach and use the pedestrian underpass to get back across. Don't tourist out and try... More

We drove past this little stop expecting great food based off of the reviews. The clam chowder was thick but not very tasteful. $5 for a large sized bowl. We also ordered the fish and chips, the special was red snapper for $7. The breading was very light, not crispy and fluffy like we enjoy. They were very friendly. Overall... More

The food here is always good. You have to wait in line and order your food at the counter. I would recommend sitting very close to the counter, or listen hard for your name. The guy who calls the names does not always speak clearly. Once your name is called, you go and grab your food from the warming bar... More

Fish is really fresh and well cooked, cole slaw yummy and relaxed atmosphere. Long lines are present when people can't decide what they want to order!

Lucky us, we got there on a Sunday by 6:00. Waiting time until we could order was only 15 minutes. The red snapper plain style with veggies and Cajun rice was very yummy. My friends ordered Mahi Mahi, shrimp quesadilla and grilled shrimps. All was delicious and fresh. You order at the counter, pay and your name will be called... More

Visited twice and had a great experience both times. The fish is fresh, servings huge, and the price affordable. You walk in and choose your fish from the ones shown behind the glass (tilapia is my personal favorite), choose how you want it cooked (grilled, Cajun style, or sautéed - THE best...smothered with a medley of tomatoes, onions, peas, carrots,... The Reel Inn is still has style and substance. Potentially the best PCH food in Malibu area. (It's just outside city boundary.) No view as it's on the land side of PCH. I probably eat here twice a month. Eclectic blend of locals, vals, bikers, hungry surfers and tourists. Fresh seafood prepared in a couple of different styles. How it... More

Driving Highway 1 through Malibu, there are several very nice restaurants, with valet parking and "million dollar views" … and dining to match. Just across from the beach side of the road, Reel Inn is a great choice for all kinds of sea food. Inside and outside wind protected seating. Red Snapper fish and chips was on special for $6.99.... Generous portions of very fresh fish from a wide and varied selection at very reasonable prices especially for seafood at a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Nice selection of beers, too. For those who may not want seafood, there are also a few non-seafood offerings. The food is fresh and tasty, but pretty ordinary preparations: no special recipes or unusual preparations.... More

You will find the Reel Inn just past the where Topanga intersects with the PCH. This is not actually in Malibu but close enough and worth a visit. Fresh fish, rustic environment, fun spot with decent service.
