Amazing Service, Food and Ambiance

The setting is one of the best in and around LA. From the parking staff to the wait staff, all was impeccable. The pricing was not bad, concerning typical LA fare. My best friend surprised me with dinner at Nobu Malibu for my birthday..it was great. We dined on the patio, views of the beach were fantastic. It was my first time so we ordered a little bit of everything, to include the shrimp with lobster and spicy lemon sauce, the black cod, spicy tuna roll, soft shell crab roll, and... More

I would like to start by saying that the food was very good and the view is breathtaking. The portions are small and the prices are high, so it's up to you if it's worth it. The service, on the other hand, was horrible. It was a very cold day and we had to ask our waiter 7 times to... More

Recently dined at Nobu Malibu in a private room. Table was a huge oval wooden table that accommodated close to 20 people. Food was amazing and service top notch. Drinks were served on the patio overlooking the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. Cannot recommend more highly for a private event.

A bit pretentious with mostly male waiters but it has Japanese chefs Food was OK but I think it's more trendy, certainly the people there looked like the local in-crowd Did not like them all shouting welcome in Japanese when somebody came in, put me off the food, but it's worth a visit for location and preferably during the day... My first time at Nobu and was not keen about sushi. But after my experience at Nobu everything changed. It was the best sushi I have ever eaten. Made me a sushi lover. Everything we ordered was to die for. The restaurant was beautiful and the view was gorgeous. Great service and atmosphere.

Hung out there for lunch with my husband on a weekday. The staff was attentive, the restaurant was clean and it was such a nice atmosphere. The fish was SO FRESH! You definitely get what you pay for. It over looks the beach and it is so serene. The husband and I plan to go back to check out the... More

Great ambience and food. We rented a house a few doors down for the month and wanted to visit nobu before our month ended. I saw mixed reviews about food and service. Our food was delish and unique. Service was kind and thoughtful. Be prepared to spend. We spent $250 on lunch for two with two glasses of wine. The... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
