An over-crowded, too-large space with a beautiful sea side location. Nobu's reputation and the Malibu location result in very high prices. An essential part of the sushi experience is the intimacy and atmosphere of a small Japanese space; together with a connection with a Japanese sushi chef practicing his art in front of you. This is totally lacking in this... More

Very loud. Guessing because we were a small party of two received very little attention throughout the evening. Food was just average. Previous visits it has been much better.

One of the best steakhouses out there! The meat is tenderly prepared and well Seasoned. The eggplant vegetarian dish is succulent and appeals to both vegans and carnivores alike One caveat... Make your reservation as soon as you can because it is busy and their dance card fills up very quickly! Not surprised, however, as their menu is outstanfi!

If you want to take an anthropological field trip to study a certain type of pretentious, celebrity addicted Californian, this is the place for you. Your trip begins with the parking lot - good thing I was not driving my rented Chevy - it would have looked out of place in a sea of high end gas guzzlers (and a... More

This is an absolute must visit if you are close to Malibu. If the weather is nice, a table outside will put you in heaven. This oceanside restaurant is my absolute favorite in Los Angeles area. Its pricey, but worth it. Reservations a must. Food is extraordinary, service impeccable, atmosphere perfect. Enjoy!

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
