On a whim we stopped into the bar around lunch time on a Sunday. Squeezed into 2 seats at the bar our favourite place to be. We had had the black cod before at Nobu years ago in Las Vegas and we're thrilled to see it on the menu. It's a perfectly executed dish. Just cooked enough so that it... read more

I don't know how to explain the melt-in-your-mouth perfection that is their crab cake with uni. The words "eel cucumber roll" read badly, but the dish was subtle and surprising. We had the mini tacos (outrageously tasty), the Goddess salad with sea scallops (tender and perfectly cooked scallops). My son convinced me to try the Salmon pastrami rice cakes that... More

Special ingredients for an amazing time? 1. Ocean Views 2. Valet Parking 3. Amazing Food 4. Movie Stars 5. World Class Service Yes to all the above. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say 15. Seriously if this star studded hangout is not on your list, put it on. Asian fusion food, located on the Pacific Ocean, is served family... More

I was planning to go to Nobu way before I booked my trip to LAX. It was highly recommended, but I thought I could be painful to get a spot, being a single traveler... Saying that, I tried to reserve a seat (note, not a table) for lunch on a week day and it was not possible. I tried as... More

Food and service the best. My favorite Nobu yet. Lots of people watching. Favorite dishes of the night were, lobster shiitake mushroom salad and yellowtail tuna with jalapeño sashimi.

Visited Nobu Restaurant in Malibu Ca on May 9th 2015. The occasion was my Birthday and Mother's Day celebration with family.Beautiful ambience overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat outside and you could see the whitecaps and hear the Ocean break on the sand. I started with a Cucumber martini that was very cool... More

Surpriced about the food/price quality! Of course it is expensive but for the food quality /good service and fantastic location it is good! Not easy to find a nice restaurant on that coast line! We had our 1st Januari lunch with 6 friends and it was fantastic! nice start of 2015!

Heard this was a must visit place in Malibu... The view over the ocean is an absolute deal sealer! The food is good fresh and the waiters are knowledgable of the menu and have great banter to accompany that knowledge! We saw about 5-6 celebs just sitting around which makes this a very much 'be seen' type of place... But... More

This was a surprise on my birthday from my girlfriend for my birthday. I really had no idea what to expect, but was immediately impressed the moment we left our car at the valet. Nobu is perched on the ocean's edge with waves crashing along the beach adds to the Zen like atmosphere of the restaurant. There is a large... More

Been here twice already, and second time was just last night. The Jalepeno Yellowtail, and Ocean Trout with Crispy Spinach is absolutely INSANELY GOOD! It's always a pleasure eating at NOBU, and last night had an added excitement when the clippers walked in the door. If you rate this place as poor/horrible you may want to take a moment and... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
