Good, with lovely ambience for cocktails

Had lunch there yesterday. Friendly at check in. Offered a good table. Basically you get the table for a hour and a half. You are told that the food is spicy. That's clearly an understatement. Jalapeños rule the day. We tried everything that was suggested including the sashimi and artichoke... read more

We had a reservation, so seating was easy. Had a table outside, view was unbeatable!!! The only reason I don't give it a 5 star review it was the service. Our server was overwhelmed and distracted, it was a busy saturday night, but we had to ask him to come back several times. Food is delicious!! Lobster ceviche was amazing!!!... More

Love this spot for beautiful ocean sunsets and great high quality sushi! Also go have lunch on the deck. They offer blankets if you get chilly and the waiters are always on top of it.

The food is overpriced, but very good and the servers are helpful and attentive. It's the reception desk that spoils the fabulous ocean view and ambiance of the best outdoor seating area in Malibu. Unless you ARE a celebrity, the snootiness factor is high here and getting a reservation (and having them honor it if someone more famous comes along)... More

Lovely fresh sushi & Champagne... Pick from the many different items on the menu then sit back & take in the view... We had a 9 month old with us & the staff were very accommodating... (Probably best to leave the kids at home though...) Great to visit this little spot we had heard so much about... I'm always happy... More

We had just one day for sightseeing so we had decided we would drive up the coast. We made reservations for lunch about a week in advance and were not disappointed in the choice. Food was imaginative and perfectly prepared, and the weather and oceanside views were perfect as well. Our server was friendly and well-informed about the menu. Memorable... More

I was in LA for 36 hours. What to do, where to go - decided to try and see if the Malibu was all that people said about it, and killing two birds with one stone try for Nobu. I heard a lot about Nobu NY, but never had the right timing for it. Calling in advance to make a... More

This is one of the best restaurants outside Japan that we have found. The menu selections can be a bit daunting; however , the wait staff know it inside and out and can make great recommendations if you are in doubt. They know the menu like a chef would. Of course, the location at water's edge at Malubu is tops.... More

Neighborhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
