The place could do with a good clean

This place is really letting its self down by the fact it looks dirty, we sat down and the seats had food stains all over them , the floor was really dirty and the place smelt of sick. we were with friends and as they had booked it and are Locals we would just go with it. The food was... read more

By the name, you would expect Cuban food..not so. It's just kind of bland Mexican. I always start rating a restaurant by it's soup & bread. Their Toriilla Soup was OK and not inspiring. I did not see any cubano dishes on the menu. I may go there again to see if their other dishes are better,,,

After doing a little research at nearby Zuma Beach we came across the menu for Cafe Habana. The menu looked great and being that I had a pocket full of Opentable dollars this would be our venue of choice. Cafe Habana IS on Opentable after all. We arrived and were barely greeted by a hostess who was staring off into... More

Every time I've been to Cafe Habana, I've had an entirely different experience. The food has not been consistent, unfortunately, but I keep going back to give them another chance. This last time the Cuban style chicken I ordered was not cooked enough and had very little flavor....nothing like the authentic Cuban lemon chicken of the Versailles...which is the best.... More

Nothing Cuban about this place...even our food server admitted when I asked. Plantains-- ok. Black beans-- dry. Fish tacos--average. Shrimp tacos-- average Service was friendly but average. Atmosphere was nice and noise was right on the edge. No reason to return. Everything is average.

This is a usual meeting place for dinner with friends who live north of Los angeles. It's a fun place. Foods good but this last dinner was shockingly horrible. The server Christina was abrasive, rude, hostile, and overall the worst server I have ever in my entire like experienced. It was shocking. It was unbelievable. We were a friendly group... More

I heard great things about this place. Very excited to stop in and try any dish Cuban inspired. The service was great, the restaurant has a nice ambiance, unfortunately the food was very average to blah. It was very Mexican American and the only thing remotely close to Cuba were the pictures on the wall. I mean nothing was Cuban,... More

Stopped for late lunch there. Service was good. Attentive, nice, and helpful. Decor nothing to remember especially. Some interesting artful photographs on the walls but that's about it. Food nothing special. Spicy calamari was not spicy. Guacamole pretty good. Goat cheese quesadilla uninspired. Fish tacos-- the broiled/grilled spice variety, not the deep fried nugget wrapped in a tortilla variety-- pretty... More

Great location in Malibu. Simple, trendy and cozy design. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, cheerful and helpful staff. Excellent food quality and good portions. Overall, it was such a great experience. If you're lucky, you might spot a celebrity having a bite there. Leonardo Dicaprio was spotted there only a couple of days after we left Malibu :)
