Just had Thanksgiving Dinner at the Cafe Mahjaic in Lotus, CA. Building had been a General Store, built in the 1850's. Great ambiance, great food, great service. Prix Fixed menu today, all the choices were delicious. Appetizer of 4 Dungeness Crab legs was a treat.

Good service, Serra Nevada rustic, excellent food, fusion of the best of cuisines, and worth a trip out here. If you visiting Sutter's Mill, drive north up the road to Lotus. It's the perfect end of a day. I would also recommend stopping at Hooverville Orchards for some of the best fruit and pies around. Their Asian pears are amazing... More

We live near this restaurant and wanted to take our out of town guests here. Made reservation for 6:00. Was seating promptly but then had to ask to finally have water poured. The bread was brought out before we received water. When we finally got our meals (which took well over an hr) the food was nicely presented and tasted... More

We enjoyed dinner here one evening during our stay in Placerville, we showed up early and the hostess was able or accommodate us despite not having reservations. Within 45 minutes the place was packed and it's easy to understand why. The food is great! I enjoyed the spaetzle and it was just as good if not better than what I've... More

Best food in the area, recommended by our B&B owner and it didn't disappoint. Atmosphere was perfect, the favors in the food were inventive and made for delicious combinations. We had the vegetable tamales and the pasta, very good.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the Eden Vale Inn where we were staying. We chose the price fixed menu which was perfect for us. The price was reasonable and the portions were exactly right. Cannot wait for a chance to visit again. Be sure to make a reservation. The restaurant is in an historic building and is quite... More
