The place is cute, friendly, has a very local feel, which is nice. The latte was good. Great way to start the day in a beautiful town.

Great Bear is an independent coffee shop well-supported by the local community. The coffee is certainly good but the main advantage over a Starbucks is that they offer hearty and good quality food items - burritos, lasagna, quiche etc. Service is pleasant and responsive.

While there are two coffee shops that I know of in town (and there may be more), Great Bear is the only one to visit. Looks like it's locally owned (not a chain), friendly staff, great coffee and real bagels with plenty of cream cheese. Have been here about 6 times on 3 different business trips in Jan-Mar 2013, and... More

This coffee shop is reminiscent of UC Berkeley coffee shops with good coffee, wifi, good sandwiches, and excellent capuccinos. These barristas take their trade seriously and it is really appreciated.

I only was in town for a short time, but I may have had 3 CCC's (Chocolate Coffee Cream) during my stay. They are a guaranteed path to happiness.

Great coffee at any time of day. Calmer atmosphere than "some others" in LG. Best for reading the paper, chatting or business.

Excellent cappuccino and excellent coffee, full of flavor, not over-roasted. These people know what they're doing and provide a great coffee experience. Breathe deep, because it's the coffee aroma you love and want to take with you. Went early one morning, so the atmosphere was pleasant and sun-filled. The artwork provided interest while sipping. This place is an asset to... More

Support local non-chain coffee shops. To few old staples like this left in town
