Great Greek food in downtown Los Gatos

If you want some great Greek food (they have great drinks too--try the Sangria) in the south bay, this is a place to try. The salads and kabobs are very good. Service is good and it's right downtown in the midst of all the action. Definitely worth a try for a healthier lunch or dinner.

I met a gal pal for drinks and appetizers after work and found the small and crowed space very hard to have decent conversation. They had several TVs on that added to the noise level and the front doors open which brought in the sounds from the street. The service was slow, probably because they were at capacity, and the... I had the very best lamb shank ever. The meat was done just right, the spinach was great and the gravy on the rice was beyond description. The service was exceptional, was both very knowledgeable and helpful servers. Our server was also very helpful in choosing Champaign for a toast and wine with dinner.

Greek cuisine is much less upscale and varied than French and Italian and probably because of this implicit limitation, it lends itself well to unpretentious eateries or small chains. OPA does an amazing job of serving all the traditional greek main staples with their full flavor and without any undesired "contaminations" or embellishments. Moussaka, dolmades, souvlaki, tzaziki...everything is just right... More

My family stopped in and shared a wonderful and very delicious platter of all the spreads with their warm pita bread: Kalamata spread, avo, fava, fiery feta, whipped potato, yoghurt - cucumber, roasted eggplant. My brother had their Sangria and said it was really good! An excellent restaurant, cozy and casual.

It's hard to go wrong with the great flavors of Greek food. This is a chain that does a decent job. For everyday fare, it's adequate and better than going for a sandwich or burger. It's not a gourmet experience but I don't think they purport to be gourmet. If you want a higher-end experience in Los Gatos, it would... More

Cozy and yet accommodates lots of people. On the main drag in heart of Los Gatos. In a nice atmosphere presents all of the traditional Greek favorites in sophisticated authentic style. Did not care of Greek wines when in Greece but they have a good selection of California wines as alternatives.

I love going to Opa for dinner! The kabob is grilled and always seasoned perfectly. I usually get a combo with chicken and beef but I've also enjoyed the vegetarian kabobs and the shrimp and scallops too. The pilaf is tasty but I will sneak in the Opa fries now and then. Yum! Another thing I love, the kids always... More

Attended a dinner with about 18 colleagues. Were seated upstairs. Nice to have private room and doors open, but was warm. Also very noisy. Maybe we were noisy group, but got hard to have conversation. Food was good. Service was good. Nice location in downtown Los Gatos. Short walk from the Toll House Hotel.

It's a nice place with lovely setting / ambiance inside. It is also on the main Los Gatos street with a chic feel to it.. We just had a small bite ( the shrimp and pita appetizer and the tzatsiki ) but love it ! Would totally recommend..
