I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Speranza. It's is a very small Silverlake neighborhood Italian restaurant that may be hard to find because it's camouflaged so well. Make no mistake, it's well worth the effort. There is metered parking in front. The pasta is home made and simply delicious. I especially love the lasagne and every... More

We went along with our family who live nearby, but first-timers might find it difficult to locate this unobtrusive Silver Lake eatery. However it's worth making the effort, especially on a warm LA evening, when this casual, family-friendly place is an excellent choice. The homemade pastas, perfectly al dente and with genuine, flavoursome sauces, are hard to beat. We chose... More

You will miss this place if you aren't looking carefully. We never did find a sign that told the name of the restaurant or the address. However, if you see orange, plastic curtains blocking the outdoor dining area from the view of the busy street, you are there! This is a busy place with a variety of dining groups from... More

Unpretentious place with patio dining and picnic style tables. Service was unbelievably slow: from the time we arrived, it was nearly 30 minutes before they took our orders and another half-hour before we started eating. Excellent freshly baked bread - it was all we had for almost an hour. The food was nothing special.

Apparently this is consider one of those hard to find, little neighborhood restaurant. Well, we found it and it was a good experience. To sum it up: It is not fancy but it was what I expected. If fancy is what you are looking for, this is not it. But it has a nice patio that reminded me of an... More

I was so excited to try Speranza, I'd read so many good reviews and it is in my neighborhood. I made a reservation on a saturday night at 8pm. The place was packed and there was no where to stand to wait. And wait we did for 45 minutes with no apologies, no glass of wine to keep us happy... More

This place seems like a complete hole in the wall but it is so charming that it is not to be missed if you can find it. (Look for orange plastic sheets.) The sign is inside which is not helpful when trying to find it in an emerging neighborhood. It is well worth the hunt The tables are picnic style... More

We enjoyed our meal here. Nice outdoor patio ... Friendly service. The bread was delicious and so was the pasta. I'd go back.

I read some reviews on another site for this place, and was looking forward to it. I love patio dining, and also Italian food.,...so I had high hopes. As for the atmosphere......I suppose it was OK. It was raining this night, so I can't blame them for that. Even still....the patio was OK. It didn't really have much ambiance in... More

My friend and I chose Speranza for a recent dinner based on a recommendation. We decided to meet there - and both of us got lost. The place is incredibly difficult to locate. It is on a dark corner, and there is no visible sign to tell you that you have found it. Once we arrived, we had to wait... More
