We had a party of 8 for an early dinner before a show nearby. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. It was definitely a highlight of the evening and made what was a long drive in for some, well worth it.

My husband and I had dinner at Katsuya before seeing Wicked at the Pantages. We had a reservation at 6pm, and we were seated immediately. I've seen in other reviews that the hostesses were not very friendly, but both were very nice to us. All of our rolls were very good and brought out promptly. We had decided to get... More

The decor is really great! Staff is a group of wannabe actors, like at most hype L.A. restaurants. The black napkin offered to people wearing dark outfits is always welcome. Overall, the sushi is an overpriced version of any of the decent sushi restaurants you can find in Southern California.

The brusselsprout appetizer is a must, I've taken friends there who don't eat brusselsprouts and they've ordered two. With that said, all the food is amazing. The Panko crusted chicken is also a must, and then of course all the sushi. There's a creative drink menu, and great saki selection. The servers are efficient and extremely helpful, you can tell... Had Valentine's Dinner here before a show at the Pantages. The place was packed, but the waitress was very attentive and we did not feel rushed. The portions on the $79 four course menu were generous and several items were very delicious. Loved the chicken salad and the black cod! Beautiful bar and decor. A little noisy but not unbearably... We ate here before a show at the Pantages (which is just down the street). Definitely has a Hollywood trendy feel. Look past that, though. The sushi is exceptional! We had salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and the Katsuya special roll and were blown away by every piece. The fish was melt-in-your mouth good. It's a tad more expensive than typical sushi,... More

We had never eaten in a Sushi restaurant before and didn't know what to order so the waiter was very helpful. It was all delicious and you could eat and eat forever.

The meal I had at Katsuya was the best I've had ... ever. I was with a bunch of coworkers, and was not the person ordering, so I couldn't even tell you the names of all the dishes we had. Regardless of their names, every single thing that came out was spectacular. We all shared each dish and it was... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
