Sushi and Some Stones

My friend and I scored tickets for The Rolling Stones "Sticky Fingers" show at The Fonda Theatre. Prior to the show we walked over to Katsuya for dinner. The restaurant is conveniently located at Hollywood and Vine and is just a couple of blocks from the Fonda. We had reservations and were seated... read more

Great location on Hollywood Blvd; very nice for a group dinner or a romantic evening as a couple. Great early bird specials. Be careful when you are seated, you will be served sake and charged for it. If you don't want it, tell your server as soon as he/she tries to put it on the table. The Lobster Dynamite is... More

Distracting decor but good food. Sushi restaurant par with most others but more expensive. Tried it because they gave a discount for theater goers. Good service and friendly wait staff. We always try to patronize diferent restaurants so it was worth going to try it out.

Wow, yum is all I have to say for this. We had the side of brussel sprouts and spicy edamame with some amazing hand crafted drinks to get started and it was over the top good. The service was amazing and the rock shrimp roll rocked it!! I'll be back for sure, thank you.

If this place could get any trendier, it would. Food was okay, not stellar for what they charge. They seem more worried about who else might come thru the door than us standing there ready to eat.

Pluses: Good food. Sushi Sashimi and rolls. Very close to Pantages Theater. Very understanding staff. We were short of time for a show and they got us in and served quickly. Negative: Expensive.

After reading the many excellent reviews, we were expecting top notch food but the rolls were pretty average and the black cod was nice but not fantastic. We wee not blown away by the special roll but the salmon lemon roll gave us something unique and we were pretty impressed by the taste there. Good decor as well as friendly... More

The edgy fusion food on the menu is surprisingly delicious. The traditional sushi, on the other hand, is mediocre, especially when you realize that you are paying a lot extra for the stunning decor. Stick with the dishes unique to this restaurant and you are more likely to feel as if you got your money's worth.

We had a party of 8 for an early dinner before a show nearby. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. It was definitely a highlight of the evening and made what was a long drive in for some, well worth it.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
