Very upscale Japanese

Atmospherically the the restaurant is extremely noisy, that said, the food was excellent, very unusual flavors and the servers were very courteous and helpful

Katsuya is a renowned place serving Japanese-ish food. Very flashy, Philippe Starck galore, great for the fashionista-crowd. It serves its own twist of cocktails and Japanese platters, none of which have particularly impressed me. Having one own's take on drinks and/or dishes doesn't necessarily equate with coming up with exquisite novelties. Service was not up to par: the main goal... More

Thank you for your review. I apologize that your dining experience was anything less then amazing. I would like to discuss the service aspect with you further. As far as the menu items, we do have some specialties that are seen throughout all Katsuya's, but we also offer items that will only be found at Katsuya Hollywood. I would love... More

Great Sushi...good people watching. Worth a try once if your in LA. I would def go back. If your a micro beer person, try Hitachino Pale Ale. Good stuff especially with their sushi. Oh, if your a celeb stalker, this is your place. A must eat once!

The food at Katsuya was outstanding and the service very friendly but efficient. The 20% discount for the Pantages Theatre makes it great place to go before seeing a play!

Great location to get out of the W hotel if there for a meeting. A very interesting sushi menu and the staff will help with explaining the choices.

Sushi was delicious, a bit too expensive but very good. Try out the house specialities and one of the sakes they offer. But remember this is in the middle of LA at a tourist hotspot.

Visited Katsuya before seeing Jerry Seinfeld at Pantages. Fun with a bustling atmosphere, this restaurant had efficient service and a helpful staff. I would not recommend the "house special fried rice." Not only was the rice (for four people) unbelievably expensive ($50.00!), but it tasted like a greasy hamburger...honestly, when I told everyone at the table my thoughts, sadly they... More

Great location in central Hollywood. Had a two courses each for my wife and I and then shared the Wagyu beef platter and wine $100.....it was plenty. You know its all about quality not quantity.

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
