Beautiful restaurant and view

The food is delicious, yet I think overpriced. As others mentioned, you are paying for the view which is fantastic. The best and unexpected surprise was the open air atmosphere -- they have tall windows that go up about 8' and then it's open air! Perfect last night as it was an 84 degree day in... read more

The Sushi here stacks up against just about anyone’s in Los Angeles. I have been here many many times and still love going back. My ONLY issue is the pricing is in line with you would expect from a restaurant on the 21st floor in LA, sky high. TIP: sometimes the line outside the door is for the club “Elevate”... More

The sushi was good and the fish was fresh, especially the Toro and the Japanese scallop and uni with quail egg. On the robata, the lamb was amazing - overall good restuarant and good view of the LA skyline.

We had 9 people meeting at this 21st floor semi-open restaurant and bar. The bar and services was excellent. The sushi and O dors were ok.

I have been to this restaurant three times. I have laws felt the food is way overpriced. It is no different in quality, presentation or portion size to that of any other everyday sushi restaurant. The views are great. It is on the 18th floor of a tower in downtown but I don't think the view leaves you satisfied. I... More

We enjoyed our dinner at Takami. It's on the 21st floor Downtown LA so you get a great view of the city. The service was very good. The food arrived very quickly at our table. The food was excellent. You could see and taste all the natural ingredients in their rolls. The Scotch and Vine drink is delicious.

It is difficult to fight LA from the west side, but as we attended the auto show we rolled in a night out. You’d be hard pressed to find another Japanese restaurant in LA with a better view, but we selected it because we believed it to be high end. In that respect it is not comparable to any of... More

Came here with a large group for a birthday celebration. From what I could tell, everyone in our group thought the food was excellent. The view of the city was also pretty darn good. Our server and wait staff were very patient with us while we barked out our orders and other requests. We were there on a busy night... More

Had a business function so we had an area outside to ourselves. The food was very nicely presented and all tasted good - however nothing that I could call outstanding. Our waitress did a pretty good job of keeping our drinks flowing. I would definitely go back if I was staying in the area even if only for the view... More

I went to Takami to celebrate my sisters birthday. She really wanted to go mostly for the view there, which I have to admit I would give a 4/5 stars for the view. The service was not so great. We got our sushi and couldn't find our waitress to ask for some soy sauce because the one on our table... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
