Sushi with a view

Came here with a large group for a birthday celebration. From what I could tell, everyone in our group thought the food was excellent. The view of the city was also pretty darn good. Our server and wait staff were very patient with us while we barked out our orders and other requests. We were there... read more

We enjoyed our dinner at Takami. It's on the 21st floor Downtown LA so you get a great view of the city. The service was very good. The food arrived very quickly at our table. The food was excellent. You could see and taste all the natural ingredients in their rolls. The Scotch and Vine drink is delicious.

It is difficult to fight LA from the west side, but as we attended the auto show we rolled in a night out. You’d be hard pressed to find another Japanese restaurant in LA with a better view, but we selected it because we believed it to be high end. In that respect it is not comparable to any of... More

Had a business function so we had an area outside to ourselves. The food was very nicely presented and all tasted good - however nothing that I could call outstanding. Our waitress did a pretty good job of keeping our drinks flowing. I would definitely go back if I was staying in the area even if only for the view... More

I went to Takami to celebrate my sisters birthday. She really wanted to go mostly for the view there, which I have to admit I would give a 4/5 stars for the view. The service was not so great. We got our sushi and couldn't find our waitress to ask for some soy sauce because the one on our table... More

The food is amazing. Very fresh and flavoursome food. The service is also good. The portion size is bigger than I thought I would be so we over ordered. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Looking for a great Sushi restaurant in the heart of downtown? This is an elegant, delicious hidden gem. Except it's not that hidden, insiders are already in the know. Tip:1. You need reservations and be on time to avoid painfully long waits. Hostesses are not accommodating due to stacked appointments. 2. Go for a late dinner to enjoy city lights... More

I took a big (and not young) group--12. I was originally hoping to do happy hour there--and that is NOT expensive given the high quality of the food--but because of various people's need to sit down at a "proper table" and be away from the music, we ended up ordering in the part of the restaurant reserved for dinner, not... This place has a very unique setting in an office building up high but with an indoor/outdoor angle. The sushi is inventive and tastes fresh. The service seems hurried, almost like they are trying too hard to turn the tables. The music is a little loud for a dinner conversation. The setting and the sushi are worth the 4 stars.
