Wonderful seafood meal

We started with a Tier 1 seafood platter, perfect for the 4 of us. The smoked tuna was my favorite, the blue crab pasta was just ok, and the grilled bass was just a touch overcooked. The $5 side of fries is huge and super tasty.

My friends and I were pleased with everything about our meal. Oysters (and oyster shooters) were fresh and delicious. My favorite cocktail of the evening was the Reanimator - described by our server as well-balanced and refreshing, and it truly was. Service was attentive. The evening specials were irresistible, there was a pork dish that was cooked to perfection and... More

Hungry Cat, Hollywood is a reliable fresh seafood restaurant. It's a little pricey but enjoyable. Worth a visit.

The Hungry Cat was an excellent choice for a pre-play dinner - opens as 5:00pm for dinner. Severed up some delicious cocktails, using the mixologist's suggestions. The "special" Manhattan was to die for! Oyster shooters where also prepared perfectly, with unbelievable spices. Try the yuri masamune sake shooter with Sriracha. We selected various raw fish dishes, including the Rod Cod... More

I always have a wonderful meal at Hungry Cat. The food is always fresh and inventive. This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of LA. Don't let the location throw you off. You must try the raw seafood, and of course one of their signature cocktails.

After struggling to find a good restaurant in Hollywood, we visited the Hungry Cat. Though I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, I don't think that I have been somewhere and tasted something as bad as I ate. I had the johnny cake dish. The flavor combinations just did not go good together, and the food was unseasoned. I usually... More

I had eaten here a year ago and was impressed with the service and food, on our return to Hungry Cat in July our waiter suggested my wife and I try the seafood platter, he insisted we would both be hard pressed finishing it ( I had mentioned to him I was a very hungry cat). The platter consisted of... More

We are locals and used to LA pricing and quality. But we were disappointed by the Hungry Cat. The food was good enough, though nothing that makes us think we have to go back. But most irritating is that the entrees are all called "dinner" on the menu and priced appropriately for a dinner, but the portions are more truly... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
