I had eaten here a year ago and was impressed with the service and food, on our return to Hungry Cat in July our waiter suggested my wife and I try the seafood platter, he insisted we would both be hard pressed finishing it ( I had mentioned to him I was a very hungry cat). The platter consisted of... More

We are locals and used to LA pricing and quality. But we were disappointed by the Hungry Cat. The food was good enough, though nothing that makes us think we have to go back. But most irritating is that the entrees are all called "dinner" on the menu and priced appropriately for a dinner, but the portions are more truly... More

The location of the restaurant is not very appealing. It is in a non descriptor courtyard of a modern building in the middle of Hollywood. That said, once you are in the restaurant, it all changes. The decor is nice, the outdoor seating is pleasant and the food is great: fresh and original. The service is very good as well.... More

Pre-Pantages dinner choice. We came up from the OC for an overnight visit and wanted dinner within walking distance of the theater. Lots of choices but, being seafood lovers, the Hungry Cat jumped out at us. (Hard to find but not disappointed.) Good raw menu but we opted for a couple of simple dishes. First of all, server asked if... More

Looking for a great meal out in Hollywood. Don't think you can do much better than The Cat. Positioned down the back of an alleyway off Vine St, it's seafood at its best and the salads are fantastic too. I had 12 oysters (half price on a Monday) - delicious, and my darling had the watermelon and tomato salad -... More

We were seeing a show at the Pantages Theatre and wanting to have a healthy dinner. The Hungry Cat was the perfect choice. VERY good food and nice portions as well. A little expensive but consider where you are. We will go to this place again in the future.

The coctail list is fresh and inventive and the raw bar is excellent. The entrees were just okay to weak and the noise level is beyond the limits of any normal conversation. Service was fine, a bit of a wait between courses but I always give a little slack for Saturday night prime time dining.

Went here on a tip. Walking in it looked like an open bar room with a dining area. Did not give the appearance of a five star restaurant but the food was five star. Service was top of the line, the menu was not overwhelming with selections but has variety and each dish that we selected was very good. The... More
