A Stones throw to the famous Venice Beach Boardwalk , plus super friendly service!

My family (table for five) walked in and out of 3 local lunch spots, all of them were rude or hot etc etc, and then we spied Dannys...how can you miss it? A Gorgeous building and super friendly service! "Walk right in!", they said, "lets find you a spot to sit! " Well OKay!! Sounded... read more

Good food and great atmosphere from day to night! Staff is a lot of fun too! I like the whole dogtown feel you get in the bar, and the live music is fun. Cool murals on the wall and skate art! Great cali beach bar/restaurant right below a great hostel!

Great position, nice people but food was lacking. We had fish and chips which was average, but good size serving, but you should avoid the calamari, which was inedible (with my teeth anyway!)

Our family of four entered Danny's for breakfast on our morning trip up for Redondro Beach to Venice and Santa Monica Beach. Great atmosphere, prices and superb service!

This was our first visit to Danny's, but definitely won't be our last. The restaurant is very casual and laid back. I had the Venice Beach Club sandwich which was delicious. My husband had the fish and chips which was also delicious and not greasy. We had calimari as an appetizer and highly recommend it. Our server was friendly and... More

Stayed at the Samesun which is just above Danny's and was glad we had it so close by. The food was great and so was the friendly staff! Loved the salmon Ceaser salad!

We had breakfast here as recommended but I will say the service was not great and the food just OK. Tried and forgotten

We popped in here for a quick drink on our way back to our hotel after spending a lovely morning at Venice Beach. The bar man was slow to serve us as he was busy chatting to two pretty young women. He eventually served us, but was not happy when we asked questions about the drinks available, or when we... More

I stopped by here a few times, just to escape the heat of the boardwalk, and to sit and have a cold cider. The service is good and they have a good menu, including a breakfast menu, but I didn't eat, so can't comment on that, but the cider is cold and delicious. A chilled out place to sit back... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
