A Little Loud But Great Food and Service

I highly recommend the fish tacos. It is at the very entrance to the beach and entertainment making it a great place to refresh and start your tour of Venice beach.

Iconic space on Windward avenue which is about the only remaining area of the Venice of 100 years ago. A mid packer among the mundane food offerings of the area but tons of Old memorabilia to gaze at. Especially interesting to find out Venice had a professional baseball team a hundred years ago.

We were overcharged on our credit card. A $40 bill came up as $110 on our credit card statement. Waiting for reply from Danny's as to why this happened but after reading a few reviews online, it seems like this isn't the first time people have complained about over charging after eating at Danny's.

Really cool vibe, awesome location, good food. Service was unfortunately sub-par. Perhaps they were short-staffed, but whatever the reason, our server took our order and we never saw him again. Someone else delivered the food, no one did a quality check, we couldn't get re-fills on our drinks, or get some more vinegar. But other than the less-than-impressive service, it... More

Danny's is located at street level downstairs from the Samesun hostel where we stayed. It is a bar/restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The doors are thrown wide open taking advantage of the sea breezes while having a few outdoor tables, big screen over the bar and comfortable atmosphere inside. All the walls are adorned with historical Venice Beach... More

Given the central Venice location, I thought this would be a tourist trap but the room looked large and comfortable and the menu excellent. I ordered french toast with sausage and bacon and it was plentiful and tasted wonderful. Service was quick and fine without being especially warm or welcoming.

I think I spent $16 on tacos one of my first times here and totally regret it UNTIL I had them and they are freaking amazing! Now I just stay to the bar and Ray is the homie. He is a hard worker and makes great drinks and good conversation. The art work and pictures around the restaurant and bar... More

Decent place to get a bite in Venice beach. The meal was a little undersized I felt, but it did the job.

Great food, great atmosphere - great beer. Ate here a lot as was staying in Samesun hostel right above - was a perfect hangover cure as well as a great pre-drink dinner, have the chicken tenders - they were beautiful

The food was good. Big portions. Tasty. Had the ribs. Enjoyed them. The place is decorated nicely. the Bathroom could be cleaner but the restaurant and bars are nice. A very large menu. Good selection of various foods.

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
