My husband and I dined at Providence in December. The restaurant came highly recommended by a local chef. We had the large prix fixe menu (I do not remember the exact number) but we got so much more food than we had expected, so much in fact we could not even finish the last meal. Overall the food is great,... More

My husband and I recently dined at Providence. We could only get an early reservation so we picked the four-course prix fixe menu, believing that we would not be hungry enough for more. We were served much more than four courses; and loved almost everything that was served. We did find that it was a bit annoying that some of... More

We had heard great things about the tasting menus but we were slightly disappointed by the prices of drinks and felt a bit rushed. The food was fabulous. The service was good but a bit hasty. Our waitress was even talking fast and seemed a bit stretched. We were in and out in an hour and 15 minutes because our courses... More

We loved the food, but we're surprised to find an all-prix fixe menu with choices of 4, 9, or 11 courses with optional wine pairings. To get a couple of the dishes I really wanted, like the Santa Barbara uni, I had to order the 9-course menu, which was more food than I wanted, but was able to bring home... More

Knowing this is Zagat's #1 LA restaurant, we decided to have my wife's birthday dinner there. We went with a lot of anticipation, and were not disappointed. The attentive service and innovative excellent food made this a special night.

One of the best meals we've ever had. The service, food and atmosphere were excellent. We went for the market tasting menu and were pleasantly surprised by the what must have been at least four additional surprise courses. Amazing food with some contemporary twists. Having said that, the menu options were fairly limited with no a la carte options and... More

Whenever I'm in LA I try to dine from Jonathan Gold's list; Providence was an easy choice for New Year's Eve. There was an 8-course NYE tasting menu, with several amuse bouches which started with my favorite thing...champagne (Krug no less). We decided on the premium wine paring and the supplemental wagyu beef A5. We also ordered 2-each of the... More

Recently had dinner at Providence with my two older (adult) sons, one of whom is an executive chef in L.A. This ranks among the top restaurants where I have dined including Le Bernardin, Paul Bocuse, French Laundry, Michel Rostang, and Taillevent. The knowledgeable and attentive wait staff brought out several amuse bouche that were delicious and cleverly presented to look... More

I had visited Providence about two years ago and the experience was not great, as my review stated. I stand by that for the meal two years ago. However, I'm happy to amend the review in a very positive direction. My wife and I tried it again, having received a gift certificate from some of our children. I guess it... More

Service was excellent, food fantastic. Atmosphere was great too although a little too dark. Will be back next time!
