Every year I go out to dinner with my daughter to celebrate my birthday. We had been going out to Melisse the past few years, but decided to try Providence this time. Liked it even better than Melisse. We went on a Monday, their no-corkage day. Had the short three course menu, which was plenty filling because of the four... More

We went there for my wife's birthday, and ordered the chef's menu...what a treat! Of course, if you don't like seafood, this may not be a good match but otherwise you will not be disappointed. The service is also excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable but not obtrusive, exactly what you would expect from a restaurant of this standing. I'm just... More

We celebrated our 30th anniversary a few weeks early and since we were in LA, went to Providence. We ordered the 4-course tasting menu but with the 5 amuse were entirely full. We started with a pair of cocktail bubbles - round, slightly stiff outer and fully liquid interior. My wife had the tequila with Yuzu while I had the... More

If you are a seafood aficionado you will love Providence. We chose this restaurant for the expansive tasting menu based solely on the reviews we had read. Not from the West Coast, we made our decision based on others reviews that we had read. I can now speak from experience that the unique and complex food experience described is spot... More

As always, the food and service are spectacular. This is a place that I reserve for special occasions. Above all, the food is spectacular and by the Los Angeles norm, very creative.

Accolades among the various reviews on this site for the creative, expansive, multisensory gastronomic experience at Providence are all well taken. Very accommodating to specific dietary restrictions without losing the individuality of each course. Beautiful presentation, and a cacophony of unexpected savor combinations with each offering, including herbs absolutely fresh from their own garden. Wine pairings were creative and sensitively... We met friends and family at Providence for dinner. The orders varied from the 4 course to the 7 course with and without wine pairings. The 6-7 amuse openings were amazing and set the stage for a 4 hour meal that went beautifully and deliciously. The duck was the best I have ever had, the foie was perfectly prepared and... More

This is the most expensive dining experience I've had. Yet, it was one of the best. Be prepared to dish out some benjamins and be prepared to enter into a foodie haven where your senses of smell and taste will go wild beyond your creative imagination.

Not much I can add as far as describing the menu and quality of the food that has not already been mentioned, but I thought it was worth pointing out that the service we experienced was beyond excellent. Because Providence only offers tasting menus, it allows them to customize not only what they offer each evening, but how they go... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
