The sandwiches were yummy, huge and reasonably priced. Their chocolate was to DIE for (took an assortment for a gathering) and it was all the RAGE for all the women! The cocktail of the day way NOT only cheap for what it was but also a totally different concoction and SUPER yum!

I have been patronizing the Alcove since late 2004 when this restaurant opened for business. The place has physically altered to some degree and the menu has made several changes but I like the food. Recently, my friends from Washington D.C. had heard about this place and wanted to try it out. They were pleased with the experience. We sat... More

The restaurant is cosy and the food good. Hip kind of place, very Californian in terms of food, service and crowd. Very nice for lunch, even late.

I was visiting a friend for a day and she was so excited to take me here, I was not disappointed. I had a tea latte, croissant, and a breakfast panini, all were very delicious. I will definitely be back when I'm in L.A. The only reason I gave only 4 stars is because I almost got attacked by birds... More

This was a great venue for an eclectic group of people with different tastes, ie vegan, vegetarian etc. It had a great variety of food with large servings. I love the ability to eat outdoors. It provides a great ambiance. Their vegan split pea soup was the best I've ever had! Their style of ordering and serviing is also very... More

Second time enjoying a meal at the Alcove. Orders at done at the counter and you carry your beverage to the table, my least favourite part of the experience. However, the meals are very good and gluten free options are available. Their gluten free toast is quite good and it can be specially ordered to accompany your meal. I had... More

We were taken here for lunch by a friend when we visited Los Feliz recently. You order inside in the bar area and then found a table for six in the shade of a tree in the front garden Perfect setting and our salads etc were then bought out to us. All very good and excellent service.

Mmmmmmmm. That's what I think of when I think of the Alcove. It's just warm, kitschy, inviting and, even though it's in a busy neighborhood, it feels very private and relaxing. Almost like being at home. The perfect way to start the day - or take a break from the insanity of L.A. (but I love that city!). The service... More

Decided to eat here after reading a review; glad I did. My egg white omelet was delicious. As my friend and I sat on the patio, we enjoyed the aromas from all the fabulous foods that were being served around us. This place is great! We saw Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters, which was an added bonus. The only... More
