Normally, I'd give this place 3 stars as I thought the broth for the beef pho was very mediocre. What I didn't expect was the roasted garlic & chili sauce they had on the tables. That stuff was awesome when added to my pho. It also made for a great dipping sauce (mixed with hoisin) for the meat.

This place is a bit of a hole in the wall but the beef broth is to die for, as is the Vietnamese iced coffee. Service is attentive.

i consider myself a pho snob. i do have high standards for pho. while the broth here was tasty, i've had better. nyc has set the bar high for vietnamese cuisine since there are so many around. pho 87 seemed the best and most "authentic" in LA so i decided to give it a try after an attempt at pho...
