We popped in for dinner, staying in the Élan Hotel opposite. This is everything you hope to get from a family restaurant, decent food, well cooked, served promptly. Our waitress made us welcome and looked after us really well. Prices are good value for what you get. My wife's salad was as good as ones we'd had in more expensive... More

Across from the Sofitel and the Beverly Center (on Beverly) is Jan's Coffee Shop Restaurant. Excellent diner fare. Reasonably priced. Free parking in their own lot. The best turkey burger in LA! Nothing fancy, but good hearty food and affordable prices (something that is rare in that foo-foo gourmet, poser, part of town. Always a must stop when we have... More

I visit Jans Restaurant quite often as I do not cook at home! The food is just like you would find on your own table. You can't beat their fried chicken dinner plate on Monday's and Wednesday's. For $10.95 you get a half of a fried chicken, soup or salad, Coleslaw or vegetable and potatoes. Add their Ice tea and... More

I always eat several meals at Jan's when I'm in L.A. It's clean, friendly (same wait-staff there year after year), large menu from breakfast 24 hours a day to vegetables to steaks or pasta. Parking can be a bit tight in the back. But Jan's is easy to get to and in a good location near the Beverly Center and... More

The charm of this place does not stem from fancy interior design or the latest culinary trends. It is much rather the opposite of that. A solid neighbourhood diner where you get exactly what you expect: some good and simple food. If you appreciate a low key breakfast in walking distance to the Beverly Center, go there!

We only ate at Jans, to be fair, because it is located across the street from the Elan Hotel, which is an excellent place to stay when in LA. It is a solid diner, so if you are interested in diner food, you can come here and be satisfied as we were. If you are expecting something more, you will... More

We ate twice there for breakfast in late July. First day pancake stack with fried bananas and the second time Belgium waffles with strawberries. Both times with their delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Good service and good food.

This was our first experience of a diner in America, and it proved to be a nice welcoming experience. If you want grilled cheese, burgers and a greasy fry up or a traditional club sandwich this is the place for you. The thing that made it so memorable was the staff, as they were so friendly and attentive but in... More

Towed my car illegally from the customer parking lot beware! We were having dinner at the restaurant, to come back find out that our car was towed away! Filed charges at the court! P.s.: food was barely eatable on top of everything

No way this has the "best coffee in Los Angeles". Mediocre food at best. Went for breakfast and it was just across from the Elan Hotel. Would have been better off with the hotel's continental breakfast.
