Legendary If the Walls Could Talk

Good American food. Nothing extraordinary, but the place just feels right. Knowing who has darkened the doors before you is food for thought. Not exactly romantic, but what the heck. Musso and Frank has earned it's stripes.

I've known about this place for years but didn't realize it would be my kind of place. After reading the Harry Bosch books, my husband and I decided we had to go. Sorry to say we went for brunch - which was excellent - but it was quiet and we didn't really get the vibe of the place! That said,... More

I took my sister here for her birthday, and it was a wonderful evening. The moment we walked through the doors, we were enchanted by the friendly waiters and the Old Hollywood vibe. This is gone from most of Los Angeles, so it's always a delight to find. We both enjoyed our meals, but I'm still thinking about the martini.... More

Hollywood Blvd can be a pretty confronting and sometimes tacky and vulgar place. It's a "tourist trap" area, and in all honesty, I would avoid the area if I return to L.A.... except for Musso & Frank...this restaurant is beautifully "in tact", and the wait staff are the perfect balance of professional and friendly. The restaurant setting is very beautiful... More

The service here is not what I expected for the hype the restaurant puts out there. This is the type of restaurant that you expect to have a waiter at your elbow at all times. This was not the experience we had when dining before hitting the Pantages down the street. The food portions were very generous and the food... More

We had our dinner at Musso & Frank on Friday. We arrived at 6.30 pm. Host welcomed us and quickly found our reservation. We ordered filet mignon and rib eye...all from the grill. The wine selection was pretty good and we had a pint noir from Russian river valley. The meat was very tender and tasty ! Managed to finish... More

Our reservations were at 7:00 PM and they had already run out of the special of the day as well as the lamb roast and the prime rib. I ordered the soup of the day, beef barley, which I love. It was so salty I couldn't eat it and back it went. For my main I ordered veal bollanese (spelling?).... More

Well I have to start by saying I came pretty close to canceling our reservations. The area around this restaurant is seedy as it gets. And it is old .... like almost 100 years. At first like walking into grandma's house. So glad I didn't cancel ...my husband and I had one of the best meals ever. I had the... More

Oldest restaurant in Hollywood! A must go just to say you were there. Food was ok. The one must try on the menu is the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs are Stuffed with cheese:) Try to sit in The older side of the restaurant. The booths are super retro!

The waiter didn't want to take time with us and he was just running everywhere. The scallops were overcooked and the brussel sprouts undercooked. They asked us to leave by the back door since the restaurant was closed instead of unlocking the front door..after paying that amount of money for dinner, I wasn't expecting to be leaving through the parking... Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
