Great Breakfast

Came for breakfast today. It was fantastic, from omelette to crepes it was the bomb. Give it a whirl while in town in Marina Del Ray or Venice Beach

Having had a couple of disappointing breakfasts at Venice Beach, we walked up to The French Market Cafe, having read some reviews. It lived up to its promise - beautiful breakfasts, presented well. Coming from New Zealand, we find it very hard to get a good coffee in the States, and the French Market Cafe was a pleasant surprise here.... More

The Quiche, the Salad Dressing and the atmosphere make this place a winner for me. This place ideally popular and you order at the cashier then get served so be prepared to wait. The servers are very efficient and very busy and you tip at the cashier.

Nothing beats a fresh Cafe Latte and a little petit dejeuner at the French Market Cafe. A little off the beaten track in the heart of L.A L.A land. I do have to mention here that you cant be in a rush as this is truly on French time... The out door patio is lovely and very unpretentious. Also being... More

Enjoy breakfast or lunch in this secret hide away. The coffee is fantastic as well. I take most of my European guests here and they all love it. Weekends are a bit busy but during the week around 10am on is peaceful and full of locals. Speaking of locals, there are many regulars, loyal customers, who start their days with... More

During our stay in Del Ray, we decided to get to Abbott Kinney via Washington Boul. The walk to Abbot Kinney from the beach was longer than expected, so we had worked up quite the appetite, and if you come from Washington Boul., you notice that the shops and restaurants everyone speaks of on Abbot Kinney only start at Venice... The French Market is a gem located in the Marina del Rey/Abbot Kinney area of Los Angeles. There are a few table inside, however the outdoor deck is where most enjoy their meal. The food is excellent, with many authentic French items on their menu. It is a limited service style of food service, where you order your food at... More

Found this place just driving around and was like magic. Beautiful little market, with delicious food. We tried many thing from onion soup, through sweet crepes and everything was delicious. Love the accent of the French lady, and to top the experience there were some fun Italian people seating outside to give the place a magic feeling of being in... More

I've been to Paris 4 times in my life, but I don't claim to speak a word of French. I have that American habit of pointing. And when I went to the cafe I tried to understand the menu, to no avail. I finally pointed to the cashier at something that looked good. It said something like "Chicken stew with... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
