$50 steaks should have a lot more flavor. It wasn't bad, just nothing too exciting. I would go back if invited but wouldn't go out of my way. The steak actually seemed like a thawed out Omaha steak.

I have been dining at Mistral for years. Whether for dinner or lunch it is elegant and lovely, gracious service, quiet for conversation and the food is always perfect. Best hamburgers EVER, and the amuse bouche is amazing. From steak to a mango/calamari salad, phenomenal onion soup...what can I say, you simply cannot go wrong

Off and on, as valley residents, we've visited Mistral and never had a disappointing meal. It is a little richer than my style of eating lately (we tried it again with friends after not going for many years) - but there are a few favorite dishes still on the menu that I enjoy. I love the chicken with garlic -... More

We keep coming back to this great Bistro - Yes it French - yes it is noisy - yes it is pricey - yes it has a great buzz. BUT the food is great the service better and front of house is ready to make you feel at home. The salads are fresh and local ingredients so they change with... More

I've ate here a number of times over the past few years and it's consistently reliable - so reliable that I almost always order the same food, french onion soup (hearty, tasty and done right) and the pepper steak which has an excellent sauce and some of the best french fries you'll ever get. Wine list is solid and not... More

While most would suggest you don't order chicken in a restaurant, I'm a contrarian. The Chicken Mistral, which come either with a Garlic Rosemary Sauce or a Dijon Mustard Sauce are fantastic. My friend has the New York steak and really likes it. The soups, salads and desserts are fantastic. I would order a Chocolate Soufflé if you haven't had... More

Henri Abergel has created a a wonderful French restaurant on the east side of Sherman Oaks. The feel is like a NYC or Chicago deco retaurant - elegant yet not stuffy. Everything on the menu is great - especially the Panko Crusted John Dory, all of the steaks (try them Echalottes), Lamb Chops and the Rosemary Garlic Chicken. Great cicktails... More

Mistral is small, charming and has friendly and competent service. Most of all, as is appropriate for a restaurant, it has great food--great French food. There is nothing pretentious or precious in their cooking, just fine ingredients and spot on preparation, From one of the best Pepper Steaks anywhere, to classic French Sole Meuniere, from a simple but wonderful roast...
