Perfect Persian dinner

We came here with a group of around 15 persons and had a wonderful dinner. The food was amazing: from the salad to the hummus, from the grilled fish and meat to the coconut and mango dessert - everything was delightful. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and yes: funny :-) I hope to come back... read more

I go to Shamishiri for lunch almost once a week. Its a very inexpensive Persian restaurant. The food is ok but not excellent and far from real Persian home cooking. Their Stews (khoresh) have nothing to do with Persian Home cooking. They just resemble the actual persian dish. However, they are somewhat tasty in their own way. Their Kabobs are... More

Friends and I went to this restaurant on 12/23/15 to have lunch. We were seated, given a basket of their bread, mint and red onions and start a 45min wait to have our order served! They simply had to many out-going orders and those orders were more important than all the people seated at the restaurant. Not only I had... More

I have been going here since I was a younger and I love it! Really does offer great tasting authentic Persian food. I took my Italian fiancé here and she had a great time. She does enjoy eating Persian cuisine but definitely can be a critic, no negative comments here. We sat in the closed off patio at the front,... More

So glad to take reviewers' advice and try this place. The most meaty, tender lamb shank I have ever had, served with platefuls of delicious basmati rice (choose dill and lima beans-very savory; pistachios, orange peel and almonds-sweet and fruity; lentils, raisans and currants-sweet and savory together). The food was a very good value too. The pastry desserts were too... More

This restaurant may be the best value for your money in LA. If you like Persian food, it is definitely worth going here. The menu is varied and the service is good. We've been many times and whoever we've brought with us has always enjoyed it. Be prepared for leftovers!

Truly No.1 Persian Restaurant in LA. Ordered Tahdig (gheymebademjoon/ghormesabzi) + Lamb koobideh kabab and I should say I have never ever tried such a delicious plate before! The manager was a lil rude which wasn't cool, but the food more than made up for it!

The food in this restaurant is outstanding in variety and preparation. The baked mashed eggplant appetizer (kashk-e-bademjan) was amazingly good: we wiped the dish clean. Falafel with sesame tahini sauce is also a good starter. The restaurant is known for Polo dishes--variously seasoned basmati or brown rice dishes, most served with chicken or lamb shanks. The Shirin Polo, with slivered... More

This gem in Westwood area of West Los Angeles is a must for those looking for ample serving of delicious Mediterranean/Persian foods. The lamb kabobs are so so good! It's fun to have a view of the grilling station in the kitchen from the dining area too. Great salads, veggies and wine selection too. They can handle a larger party... More

The food at Shamshiri Grill is incredible - fresh, delicious, expertly prepared, and extremely generous in portion size. Their lamb chops are simply the best I have ever eaten and I have had many. The lamb kabob is fantastic as is the amazing Shirin Polo rice with orange peel and nuts. Also don't miss the appetizer KASHK-E-BADEMJAN - baked eggplant... More
