We went here on a late Monday night and it was busy. Our waiter was pleasant and the food arrived on time. They had different types of Iranian soups that we haven't tried before so it was a good experience.

WARNING: This is from an Iranian Vegan's standpoint: Every single time I am in LA I make it to this Vegan-friendly Iranian restaurant. Initially, being Iranian, it was difficult for me to go vegan. Kabobs were part of my DNA and all the traditional stews had one type of meat or another. But thanks to this place, I found-out that,... More

Shamshiri has been in a decline over the last years. Since I love persian food, I decided to give it another chance today. The result: very oily, heavy thadig that lies like a rock in my stomach. The vegetables on the side were dry and old. Time to find another persian place in Teherangeles.

We had dinner here on a previous trip and decided to go back this time during lunch. The place was packed at 1:30 in the afternoon and service was great. We ordered from their regular menu and both entrees were good. My only complaint is that my kebabs were a bit on the dry side (beef shamshiri, koobideh/barg).

We tried a variety of dishes after visiting UCLA. The specialty dishes were tasty; chicken and beef better than the lamb. Hummus was good. Overall too much food for 6 people. One plate is good for 2 or 3 so watch your portions. Fairly reasonable prices, especially if you share.

I was introduced to this place by a friend in 1995 when I visited her. Since then it has been my LA ritual. I make sure I stop by either for lunch or dinner at this place when I am in LA. Their food is very tasteful, prices are within my budget.

Dishes for all tastes.... Vegetarians/meat eaters must congregate at this hot spot. My personal favorite is: Koobideh 2 skewers of usda choice ground beef (our own blend), seasoned with onions and spices, and broiled to perfection!!! Enjoy!

We went there twice in two night. We were seated right away even though it was busy. Service was excellent. Even though I am persian and can make some of the dishes better, this place is an excellent place to have a persian meal. Servings are very generous even when you split them. You should expect to take some home!
