Great history and views. Food is okay!

Have been here many times, and was thrilled that they didn't close. The views are awesome and the facility is beautiful. Food is good--it's not cutting-edge by any means but it is solid as a rock. I will certainly be back! Tip: go so you can see sunset. And GET A WINDOW SEAT!! :)

I saw this place from the air flying in from Amarillo in Texas. Had a few hours to kill before my flight to Australia so decided to check it out. It is a collection of aircraft from world War one World War II and the Cold War arranged around a set of large club rooms which have been converted into... More

We hosted a 100th birthday party for my grandaunt! The facility was beautiful and the staff was amazing. The tables were decorated with the linens exactly as we requested. The staff consistently checked in and provided assistance whenever needed. The owner was so impressed with my table centerpieces he took pictures and asked questions. He was very complimentary. The extended... More

This was my second time here- this time with the kids. So glad we came! Kids loved seeing all the airplanes around the property and all the historical artifacts around the restaurant. We got a table by the window and they were completely entertained watching the planes and listening to the headphones they have for them to pretend to be... More

I recently had dinner at the Proud Bird before attending a concert at the Forum. Diners are met with airplanes on display in the parking area. The interior layout affords every table views of incoming planes. For aviation fans, request a table at the window - they include headphones that allow you to hear the control tower at LAX. While... Proud Bird is a destination restaurant. Try to get a table by the window so that you can watch the planes coming in for landings at LAX. The staff and menu are children friendly, but the adult fare is fabulous. Be sure and take time to go outside and inspect the collection of small planes.

Went to this restaurant while on business travel. I got blackened Mahi-Mahi, which was very good. The walls are covered with lots of aviation history memorabilia, and the yard has historic aircraft. You could spend hours looking at all of this, which my group would have liked to do, except the service was quite slow, and one of us needed... More

We went to this restaurant with four children and five adults for father's day. There are vintage planes from WWII and WWI on display and memorials to the Tuskegee airman among others. There is fenced outdoor space for kids to run around with some supervision. The buffet was extensive and included Mexican food, omelettes, meats , prime rib, salads, a... More

I try to get to Proud Bird every time I'm in LA. I've never been disappointed with the food, the steaks have always been great. As a history / aviation buff, the setting is fabulous. Give it a try for someting out of the ordinary.

This was the 2nd time we went here. The first time was only to take away food. On both occasions though, it was prior to departing LAX for London. The first time we went we were really impressed by this quirky place. The building and its interior are fantastic. Obviously, the aircraft make this an interesting place too. The take... More
