We had the buffet. Restaurant was clean. Waiters were nice. Food was fair, dry and tasted packaged. They also had carving station and pasta station. Pasta was made to order. And was better tasting. People ordered off the lunch menu. Looked better. They have a limited menu for lunch. The view is fantastic. Can sit and watch an active runway.... More

We went to this restaurant for their 'Father's Day' brunch. The food was very good & they had a good selection. Their advertisement said "Dad's first beer is on us" but did not say the additional beer purchases were required!

A local monument to the great aircraft industry which was such an important part of the history of the surrounding area. Outside the building is a collection of old aircraft. The inside walls are covered with hundreds of photographs of historic aviation figures and aircraft. Window tables provide a great view of the aircraft on final approach to LAX only... More

We could see the aircraft from our hotel room on the 18th floor and walked there to find that it was a restaurant. Some at the front on plinths and others at the rear in the "garden". Fancied the Kalamari but it was only for the evening but the waiter(Boss?) said he would get some for us. It was not the... More

The service was good. The food was not so good we had fish and chips. Maybe ordered the wrong choice . Interesting place to visit if in the area.

This hidden gem of a restaurant is tucked in directly in front of the runways at LAX and serves up a very enjoyable brunch. The parking is great (and free) and the grounds are green and well maintained. But the best part, according to my grandson, were all of the wonderful WWII era plane, watching the big planes landing, as... More

The food is very good, went to a catered buffet their salmon was excellent. But the planes rock, World War One and beyond aircraft all on static display. Inside the restaurant, walls are filled with pictures and displays of military/civilian aviation history. Also your right near the landing strip at LAX, this place is great fun.

The Proud bird serves great steaks, burgers, seafood and an amazing all you can "Eat" sunday Brunch and caters for all occasions be it business, pleasure, family or weddings etc. The view of planes landing a few hundred feet away at LAX is amazing, it also has several old planes in the Garden/car park and an outdoor area with tables/seating... Having to spend a number of hours before a red-eye flight back to DC from LA, my son suggested the Proud Bird. It was pure delight in that it has such a rich sense of history, and there are real-life model aircraft outside. But you are on one of the main approach runways to LAX so you are constantly seeing... A piece of Los Angeles history... and L.A. rarely values it's history. Closing in 4 days (Dec. 18th 2013) due to an astronomical increase in rents due to LAX commission rules. Get there fast. Food is good, prices are high... added 18% tax for the previous high rents so there is that too. Get there early to enjoy the history... More
