The Proud Bird is a long standing restaurant with great view of LAX. It has great aircraft displays as well as many aviation pictures. Welcoming staff and great service. I enjoyed an extended conversation with my waiter, I decided on a lighter meal. I ordered the mixed green salad with salmon. The meal and wine were excellent and price was... More

Picture this: sitting at a table covered with a linen cloth... sipping a great glass of Pinot Grigio, dipping baked pita into a glorious spinach/artichoke dip (really, really good!) while watching a steady stream of planes from around the world land just a few yards away. You overlook actual planes (P-38, T-6 and many others) while you dip into a... More

We went there for lunch. Some may find the static display and photos neat-O-. It ain't the Smithsonian... And the restaurant ain't even Applebee's. I dropped $20 on a beer and club sandwich. $20 should buy a very good sandwich. I should have gone ... Well anywhere else. Live and learn... And avoid this place.

Having heard of this place for years it's happy to finally give it a whirl after an evening airport pickup. My mom, age 86, loved all the old memorabilia. We all enjoyed sitting at the window watching the planes come in. Our food was all very tasty and the service was friendly & efficient. Salads were beautifully presented. My rib-eye... More

A great place for a unique & fun Sunday brunch. A group of friends were wanting an out of the ordinary place to meet, chat, eat & have a glass of wine. It was a blue sky day, so we sat outside amongst the planes & history of aviators of days gone by. A buffet was offered, however we each... More

We just happened upon the Proud Bird after landing at LAX and wanted to catch up with friends. What a delightful time we had the afternoon we shared here. We had a fantastic lunch. I had a club sandwich with fries that were very hot and freshly made. The other people in our party had the gourmet buffet that was... More

This place is to die for. The decor, the ambiance, and food quality. The kitchen is small and you can often see your meal being prepared in the open kitchen. The prime rib is to die for and is one of the best I have ever had in my life. The planes all throughout the premises are a good reminder... More

It is a restaurant with museum of air history with some real old airplanes out doors. Special rooms for famous pioneers like McDonald Douglas, General Dolittle, Chenalts, etc. Service and food are quite good too.
