I have only good things to say about this place. Central to Hollywood attractions yet not on the tourist path, the service is super friendly and the walls are adored with paintings on velvet (Elvis is there, yes he is), the ceilings are covered in fancy Mexican velvet sombreros. The food is delicious and the tequila mixology is insane. I... More

I love this place! Calamari is always on point (and a steal @ $8), guacamole is always fresh, and the entrées are big enough to share! Service with a smile....how it should be.

I have experienced the Velvet Margarita many times and it is the same each time. Delicious, personable, amazing food and service. You will not be disappointed. This time they were fully booked, however when I told them that I was visiting from the East Coast and only had one night in LA and wanted my guests traveling w me to... More

Very central in location to the Hollywood tourist sites, this place has a great, well priced menu and an awesome atmosphere and vibe. Loved the authentic tasting food, but keep in mind the servings are pretty large (we made the mistake of having nachos, salad, then the main, a burrito which forced me to surrender despite my hunger when we... Got a tip this was a fun place to eat and it was true. The staff was friendly and fun but the atmosphere was the best. It was almost like being in painted velvet art. From the spinning, shiney disco pinatas, to the twin gold framed mega video screens displaying an eclectic mix of movies, shorts and videos. Fresh fruit... More

The atmosphere is unusual but don't let that fool you. Just a couple blocks off Hollywood Boulevard this is a place not to be missed. Each time I have gone we have had great service, great food, and great cocktails.

The concierge at the W Hollywood recommended this place. It's hidden behind a small black doorway, but don't let that or the dark decor put you off. They do a good guacamole, mains are tasty - as is the marguerita. Casual, but professional service, which I like. (They show Mexican movies on screens above the bar, which are hypnotic in... More

went there for dinner and the experience was overall pretty awesome. Food was pretty good and the waiter we had was really awesome. I had the chicken taquitos and they were not the greatest but they were good. TIP: There is a valet lot just past the place... just after that there is a sketchy dude that wants you to... More

If you're old enough, picture a Mexican restaurant from the 70s with dark walls, velvet banquettes, and black/silver sombreros covering the ceiling with the warm and fuzzy feeling of already being stoned, before you start drinking. Then you start drinking, and notice the background music is really terrific. Then they bring amazing red tortilla chips with 3 kinds of dip... More

Love the decor. The margaritas were excellent. Service was fine. The food: the dips were acceptable but 2 out of 3 of us were disappointed by the mains. The portion sizes were generous.
