Visited this place in late March 2014 whilst staying at the W Hollywood. Visited around 9pm. Had already known about this place, but upon asking the concierge for directions (avoiding the weirdos on the boulevard at that time of night) they confirmed it was probably a good first night option. Very different to what I normally go for, but really... More

This is a very fun restaurant with above average food. Would recommend making a reservation. It is a bit dark and loud.

Food is great and cutting edge but be sure to spend some time in the bar! Phenomenal selection of tequilas! Get the butterscotch one! All Barrett sets are great and knowledgeable!

The restaurant is behind a velvet curtain. Hiding a multitude of .......! It is dark, dingy and also very difficult to read the menu. Our waitress and helpers were helpful and efficient. The food however was tasteless and horrid. It all had been pre-cooked and re-heated. I had a steak burrito. It was enormous, dry and aneomic. I could only... More

Beautiful 'day of the dead' style decor and the food was the best Mexican food I've ever had. (Would have thought is was closed when we arrived as the shutters were down but the door was open). Would go back for sure if I visit hollywood again. Cool friendly staff too!

My partner and I came here for a late night snack and drinks upon arrival in LA. Fun place, good people watching.

I have only good things to say about this place. Central to Hollywood attractions yet not on the tourist path, the service is super friendly and the walls are adored with paintings on velvet (Elvis is there, yes he is), the ceilings are covered in fancy Mexican velvet sombreros. The food is delicious and the tequila mixology is insane. I... More

I love this place! Calamari is always on point (and a steal @ $8), guacamole is always fresh, and the entrées are big enough to share! Service with a smile....how it should be.

I have experienced the Velvet Margarita many times and it is the same each time. Delicious, personable, amazing food and service. You will not be disappointed. This time they were fully booked, however when I told them that I was visiting from the East Coast and only had one night in LA and wanted my guests traveling w me to... More

Very central in location to the Hollywood tourist sites, this place has a great, well priced menu and an awesome atmosphere and vibe. Loved the authentic tasting food, but keep in mind the servings are pretty large (we made the mistake of having nachos, salad, then the main, a burrito which forced me to surrender despite my hunger when we...
