While on a girls getaway to LA, we stayed at the Inn at Playa del Rey which is a short walk from the restaurant. On our first night in town we walked over for dinner and were delighted with the food. One of my friends declared the Penne a la Vodka the best she ever had and I loved the... More

In a recent trip to LA, I had the opportunity to dine at Cantalini's. It has the familiar feel of a small family Italian restaurant. You have the sense that many of the patron's are regulars, bantering back and forth with the staff. That said, the service for the new patrons (including our group) was lacking. It took a while... This is the 3rd time I have been to this restaurant in the last 3 years. Our waiter, whom we seem to have gotten all 3 times is not about customer service. He wants your order, you to eat quickly, so he can get new people to the table. We had a table for 10 and were told at the... More

Cantalini's makes this New Yorker think of the fantastic italian food back east. The pastas and sauce are great, the garlic shrimp awesome, the homemade tiramisu yummy, and on and on. And owner Lisa and her staff are so friendly. Just a wonderful place to dine.

Cantalini's is the quintessential "little Italian restaurant"! From the Italian mural decor to the fresh flowers on the table while Dean Martin sings "That's Amore!", this place is charming. The service was great and the homemade breads, pastas, and soups were all delicious. You get all this at a very affordable price (at least at lunch when we were there),... More

Been in MB for 3+ years, never stepped foot inside until this weekend. It was great, home made pasta, great veal, excellent affordable prices. We'll be back and I recommend you all go to! Appatently it has been there for 60+ years.

What an absolute GEM!! Please do not ever let this restaurant leave. Warm, dimly lit, cozy, old school Italian restaurant vibe... Just makes you want to sit back, drink a glass of wine or two and relax. Our waiter was superb!! Excellent service, which is somewhat rare these days. He helped my mom pick out a glass of wine and... Recommended by friends, so I felt completely at home in this restaurant. The food was amazing - from the bread to the dessert. The service was stellar and the atmosphere intimate. Perfect for family, dates, and even solo dining.

My husband found this restaurant on Trip Advisor during a business trip to LA. If you're looking for a really nice place to eat and have a car, it's worth the short ride from the airport! Before eating though, stop in at the bar next door. It's a little tiny bar with about 15 seats. It's got a lot of... More

Warm, intimate Italian eatery in Playa del Rey. Great food and pizza with friendly staff, always busy on every evening. Sundays live music with roots 30's- 40's jazz. Fun!
