Cantalini's is the best for Italian Food

We found Salerno's based on a local best Italian Food award in the local paper. It is a gem and one that you must try! The restaurant is not very large and I recommend you call ahead to reduce your wait time. Although not a fancy restaurant, it is circa 1980 Italian restaurant decor, the... read more

We walked here from a beach house in playa del Rey. It's right on the main road and doesn't look like much on the outside. Based on reviews we decided to go. It was small inside but was cozy. Staff were all friendly. Our service was a little slow but I think it's because one girl looked like she was... More

This is going downhill. I see they are paying someone to drop off flyers to residents' doors in Culver City, and took the bait. Note, the odd thing is the promo flyer did not offer any discount, or special, but after a long, typical Palm Springs to LA commute, grueling medical testing, nerve conduction studies, VMGs, etc. needed good food,... Our party of three enjoyed a delicious lunch at Cantalini's. The ample homemade pastas and salads were satisfying. Although we also enjoy hip, current cuisine, we appreciate this restaurant's respect for more traditional dishes. The ambiance is a bit funky which only served to enhance the experience. An added plus is that Catalini's is situated in the Los Angeles beach... More

It a great throw back to the old NY Italian restaurants. Checked table clothes, great music from the 50's and 60's sung by Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, etc. Good and generous portions.

We ate here the night before flying out of LAX last week. It's a quaint little family run place. The pastas were all homemade, a good selection of wine, and the bread was fresh and delicious. Our table unanimously agreed the spicy mix of marinara and cream sauce was the best. Parking is challenging, but they do offer a valet... More

My mom's favorite place to eat in Playa del Rey. This place is filled with locals and visitors alike. Good menu of meat and fish with an Italian flair. Service is good - very friendly. Has valet parking to ease entry. Place can get busy on weekends. Heard the brunch is good. Love the veal and chicken marsala. Many fish... More

Been here twice now. First time was a weeknight and only one other table was occupied. Second time was a sunday early evening that was so packed with guests we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. The service and food are wonderful! We have tried an assortment of the house-made ravioli as well as the veal marsala, saltimbocca, and picatta.... More

This restaurant is a local Italian restaurant. We are from Europe and visit Italy two, three times a year. That said, this restaurant is American Italian. Most of the dishes will definitely not be seen in Italy or will be served in another way. The cucina is tailored to the American tastes, which means huge portions, a lot of ingredients,... More

Cantalini's was recommended to us by some business associates we were visiting in Playa del Rey. The ambiance is typical of many Italian restaurants including a vast number of pictures of celebrity diners. Being in LA area, there are a lot of available celebrities! I usually try the Puttanesca sauce as a judgement of new Italian restaurant. But they also... More
