Almost as good as the best in Kyoto and smong the best in LA

The chef knows what she is doing. Although Naka is not a sushi restaurant, she knows how sushi should be served. The best way to enjoy sushi is to sit at counter where sushi chef can hand to you one piece at a time as she makes it. At Naka, the last course of its kaiseki consists of 6 pieces... read more

IF there is one Kaiseki restaurant to go to in Los Angeles, its this one. YES its expensive but its worth every penny you spend. This is my second time to visit and I will come here everyday if my pocket can afford it. The only thing that may be a drawback is that she now only offers 1 choice... More

This is without doubt the best food I have ever had, served in the most stylish way and by servers who know exactly what is being served up. Atmosphere was great and we spent over three and a half hours enjoying this experience and that's really what is is, an experience. Wonderful to meet the chef and sous chef also... More

I went with family for the small set meal. The portions are not large so it was a variety of tastes and textures. There were only subtle flavors that I could not understand. I am not sure if it is my lack of sophistication, but I couldn't appreciate each dish as it was presented to the fullest degree and the... More

I dined here three times last year and each time the dinner was very special as far as the taste, presentation and service. It is not often that I go back to the same restaurant, but n'naka is an exception and well worth the price, after all, it is less exepnsive than flight to Japan.

See title. Among the finest dinners I've enjoyed in the last decade. Top flight service, relaxing ambience, and the freshest ingredients. Just go.

I am a chef and I decided to try this restaurant for myself. Having heard all of the rave reviews It was something I just needed to do. Yes the food was good, but not what it is hyped up to be. The prices of course were outrageous but hey this is L.A. and it is to be expected at... More

Most dishes are quite well presented, beautiful, and tasty. A few were quite bland and need some work. The pasta with abalone was excellent, along with the branzino and the uni preparations. More sparkling wines should be offered.

My boyfriend booked this restaurant from looking at trip advisor ratings, as it was ranked #1. I wasn't expecting to be blown away but not only was the food amazing, the entire experience was topped off with incredible wine and saki. We sat next to an interesting, lovely couple from LA who gave us insight into the show that the... More

N/Naka is a kaiseki restaurant by Niki Nakashima. It is a highly personal, sensory experience featuring a set 13 course menu. they have vegetable courses, soup course, meat courses, dessert course, sashimi course and chef's choice course. I think the menu changes every day based on what they have fresh. Also they specialize in doing strange pairings that work for... More
