Good steak in downtown LA

My wife & I had dinner here before a show on 10/30/13. Cocktails were great (martini with blue cheese in the olives...yummy!), and the salad was, too. Got the petite filet w/lobster special. Lobster was very good, so was the steak, medium rare just how I like it. The bacon infused mushrooms/onions... read more

Morton's used to be one of the top steakhouses in L.A and in the country however it's really showing it's age. I ordered a bone in ribeye which was not even half as good as Mastro's. Mastro's, CUT, and Chi Spacca has propelled past Morton's as the steakhouse of choice in L.A. The reason why our party chose Morton's is... More

Morton's a Figueroa Street offers great Filets mignon and provides an excellent service. My companion was at Morton’s for the first time. His comment was simple: the best filet mignon in the world! Also the wine by the glass was excellent.

I've come here to rave about our waiter more than the steak.. we've travelled the world (Dubai, New York, Vegas, Morocco, Greece, London to name a few places) and we're always looking for an Indian resturant or a steak house to eat in and we're so glad we came across Mortons in LA.. our waiter was a gent called Mike,... I first visited the Morton's in Phoenix several years and was quite disappointed in both the food and service and hadn't been back. While working in Los Angeles for several months, this location was near where I was staying and myself and several colleagues found it a convenient place for happy hour and dinner and become somewhat semi-regulars, visiting 1-2... I visited Morton's with a group of colleagues, and had the Cajun ribeye and the house salad. The steak was tender and well-seasoned, without being overwhelmingly spicy. The salad was fine, but not memorable. We enjoyed the extensive whiskey menu. One order of chocolate cake was enough for seven people.

2 yrs ago I visited this place and since then could not forget about the taste of their steak, so noe that I returned to LA it was obvious, I must return. I went with 3 friends this time and all of us were impressed of the quality of food and service as well. Anyhow, if you are on limited... More

Service always an A plus. Ate at the one in Burbank recently, but the food was less than disappointing, meaning it now tastes like a chain restaurant whereas twelve years ago it was outstanding. These guys have really gone done in quality of food. And- I wish someone in their corporate office would order WILD CAUGHT seafood and HORMONE free... More

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
