What the heck was I eating before?

Pastrami, pastrami, pastrami. Isn't that the old business cliche for having a successful restaurant/business? I have either the Reuben or the number 19 (house specialty sandwich), yeah, I think that is the number. Oh... of course fries and a Dr. Browns Cel-Ray soda. Simply perfection. Several... read more

I have either the Reuben or the number 19 (house specialty sandwich), yeah, I think that is the number. Oh... of course fries and a Dr. Browns Cel-Ray soda. Simply perfection. Several sources consider this pastrami to be America's best. Do not argue. Their special pastrami,... More

Our family in LA highly recommended a trip to Langer's during our visit. We arrived to see a long line out the door...a good sign of really good food. After about a 25 minute wait we were seated and ordered 5 #19 and fries. Service was friendly, attentive, and fast. Out came these very hefty sandwiches...pastrami, slaw, swiss cheese between... NY has its own league is of great delis, no question, but this is LA at its best. If it was in Beverly Hills it would be rock star. They have truly great rye bread and stack it with quality pastrami and a satisfying pickle on the side. Yep. Lots of quality deli fare to compliment especially soups

We were looking for a deli in the LA area and my father recommended the restaurant. It was in downtown LA - rough looking area but the restaurant had parking around the corner. Once you walked into the restaurant, it was like walking into the past. The servers wore white dress shirts and black slacks. We ordered the signature sandwich... More

While in town visiting my boyfriend, he suggested Langer's as it made many best of lists across the country in different media outlets. He loves to eat and has owned his own restaurant back in Chicago - so he's always up for a "best of " eatery. We headed over this past Friday at 2pm. Langers has limited hours from... More

A couple of years ago, a friend brought us sandwiches from Langer's. While good, they didn't compare to the pastrami I've had at Katz's in NYC or even Canter's in LA. This time, we visited the restaurant; and it was a much better experience. It's a typical deli - all the dishes you'd expect, open seating, nothing fancy, etc. I... More

The absolute best sandwich I ever ate!! The service is great as well, very attentive. Prices are reasonable for what you get, and it's just too good!

Yes Langer's is good as there is not a better choice in LA. But in New York we have Carnegie, Katz, plus lesser known deli's. Langer's is no where near as good as them. Their matzo ball soup was little to be desired. The broth was right out of a Progresso can! No spices are allowed? Some black pepper maybe?... More

Had lunch at Langer's with a friend today and it remains the best pastrami in town. Just the perfect sliced pastrami served on fresh rye with a crunchy crust. The #1 is still my favorite which is pastrami piled high on fresh rye with creamy coleslaw right on the sandwich and a little russian dressing (think in terms of a... More

Definitely the best pastrami anywhere. If you like both pastrami and corned beef, and cannot decide between the two: get the number 54 "19 Style". The apple pie and key lime were wonderful as well.
