one of the great spot in Downtown. the street is covered with graffitis and is not really engaging but once you push the door you forget it. They did a good job with the venue: a large shed with paperboard chairs, a large sushi bar and a fantastic sushi selection with very fresh fish

R23 has been around for over 20 years. It used to be the cool hip place to go but is not any longer. The clientele seems to be on the older side now. We usually sit at the sushi bar when we go before theater at the Ahmanson. The host on our last visit was exceptional. Very attentive to our... More

We have been on the prowl for an excellent sushi place that won't break the bank and we are now up to three different locations. A little harder to find per the address, this place had your standard sushi roll options along with chef selections, etc. We always get the spicy tuna to compare between each location and this wasn't... This restaurant is tucked into the warehouse district of LA, with the surrounding outside walls covered in griffiti art. My companion and I were two of four people upon arrival and shut the place down by the conclusion of our meal. The sushi was extremely fresh, bursting with flavor and artfully plated. Our waiter made recommendations, explaining in detail about... More

The food and the service were both very nice. You'd expect the good service as we were two of about 8 people in the place. That's likely due to the weird warehouse neighborhood location. The food was worth visiting for. The menu is a bit stale, in the sense that it's the same as any other fancy sushi/fusion type place... More

We ate lunch here to get the best for our buck. We had awesome sushi at a decent price. The interior was different using cardboard to make their chairs. If you are in the area for lunch it's worth the stop. I heard they are quite expensive for dinner.

An extraordinary place to find a elegant sushi. It's tucked among industrial/warehouse area in downtown LA where there is a large scale of awesome graffiti adorning the next building. Came here the first time about 8 years ago and really loved the ambience, especially the cardboard chairs. They still have them!! Great place for a date night. But it's a... More

I purchased a discount coupon that was suppose to give us 50% off of the 7 course dinner...90% of the people also had the same coupon when I was there. This restaurant is suppose to be for the "hip and young"! Service was excellent! The "Cardboard" chairs were fun to look at and the decor of the restaurant was great.... More
