Good Food

The service and food was good. They were crowded with people of every ethnicity which was a good sign. Getting a table for 2 was easy as most patrons were groups of 4 or more. Only complaint is it was a little expensive. But the amount off food was large. I would eat there again. It is in Chinatown.

I admit it, having lived in Taiwan I have very high standards for Szechuan food. This restaurant was okay but not great, and no better than what I'd find in my land-locked suburban hometown. We may have ordered poorly, but mostly our dishes tasted much too salty and simply of soy sauce. We had fun looking at all the celebrity... More

This is a great and well-known Chinese restaurant, and a fun stop in Chinatown. It's accustomed to people who may not always do Chinese food, but also authentic. They were friendly and able to accommodate requests for MSG-free plates (I've been told at other restaurants that this is impossible, as it's added to all the sauces and broths). Today, we... More

Yang Chow has it all! The egg drop soup is the best I have ever had. A little unusual for me with very plentiful mushroom slices. The starters are also amazing. The spring rolls and dumplings are tasty, obviously made quality ingredients. The cashew chicken and sweet and sour shrimp are also the best I have had anywhere in the... More

Visiting from Cherry Hill NJ I was a bit surprised to find what is considered to be very good Chinese food for LA. The restaurant was very crowded on a Saturday night and seating was tight. The wonton soup as well as the spinach tofu soup were both in a tasteless broth which was just a bit above hot water... More

First let me say: this is the best Chinese food I've ever had. On top of that, it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! When I think about a classic, old school restaurant in LA, this is it. Upon walking in, you feel right at home and immediately begin to think about how many famous people... More

They service was excellent. You get a LOT of food, like a lot. I loved that they brought us warm tea. The food was good. I wish I would have gotten their slippery shrimp though. I heard a lot of good things about it.

I had the Szechuan Orange chicken, pork fried rice, and broccoli, a pork fried dumpling and I tried a chicken wing. It was all very good and I will definitely go back there again. I also recommend it because the customer service was excellent. Definitely worth it. Just know if you have picky children they do not have a kids... More

Yang Chow's has been a China Town restaurant that continues to have excellent quality food at a reasonable price. I've been going there for 40 years and I have never had a bad meal.

Have visited twice in the past month. Great Chinese food and good service. Valet parking behind the restaurant. We liked it so much the first time, we took friends with us last weekend who said it was the best Chinese food they'd ever had. Slippery Shrimp is not to be missed. Great assortment of Gluten Free options.
