Good food but reputation based on glory days of the past when Chinatown was real. Want great Chinese food? Go to Monterey Park

As one who has lived in China and enjoys a Chinese meal this was excellent food. All the dishes were tasty! The atmosphere was perfect.

You definitely need a reservation . The food is delicious . Get their special slippery shrimp and the Szechuan beef. The green beans are great too. Service is excellent. When there are 20 restaurants in a few block radius and this one has a line, you know there is something good behind those doors.

This place is not fancy but who cares when the food is excellent! Slippery shrimp and Chicken fried rice are my favorites. Everything is great though.

My wife and I stopped in on Saturday and had the dish that this place is famous for, and it doesn't dissapoint. Also try the steamed pot stickers! They are awesome.

Went here before a game at Dodger Stadium, had to wait 15 minutes for a table for two but it was well worth it. We had a cold sesame noodles, special Kung Pao chichen, and a spicey beef dish, more than enough for three, but it was so good we just pigged out and ate it all. The waiters were... More

Been eating here for years. They are incredibly consistent. It's worth the drive to China Town. Their service is very professional (although it can slow down when they get busy, which is often.) Food is outstanding! Some of the best Chinese around (Slippery Shrimp, Crispy Beef, Chicken & Asparagus, and Pan Fried Noodles. Won Ton Soup very decent.) Recommend you... More

China Town in Los Angeles is still very a fun place to shop and walk around and take in the Chinese culture. The Beautiful Dragons that greet you at the the beginning of China Town on Broadway begin to prepare you for the unique sights you will see and experience while visiting. But while you are sightseeing and shopping make sure... I live in Palos Verdes - a bit of a trek from downtown Los Angeles - but on New Years Eve my husband surprised me with theatre tickets and suggested we eat at Yang Chow. I'd never heard of the play but I jumped at the chance to eat at Yang Chow. This restaurant NEVER disappoints. The Slippery Shrimp alone... More

I had the best dinner 12/11 at Yang Chow! The service was outstanding and the food excellent. Had the sweet and sour fish and it was amazing. Hadn't been there in 30 years and loved every minute!! Thank you for a wonderful evening and Christmas present that the manager gave each of us when leaving.
