Great noodles, soups and other thai dishes.

When I lived in LA during the 90s, this was one of the standard go to spots for me (especially late night). It's cheap, quality and rarely dissapointed. QWHen I recently visited LA (3 day stop- not enouguh time to hit all my old haunts) I stopped in for a quick bite a few houes before a planned... read more

Boy what a treat eating in this restaurant was!! There are so many dishes to choose from. I love noodles so immediately checked out the noodle dishes and decided on Roll Noodles - special steamed flat noodles with chicken, shrimp, squid and black mushrooms on a bed of steamed bean sprouts in a special gravy sauce. It was absolutely delicious!! It's... More

As a longtime expatriate living in and out of Thailand for the last 25 years, my recent trip to Sanamluang Cafe in Hollywood during a holiday visit to the States was a very pleasant surprise. A cash only establishment, the Cafe boosts an impressive menu and can make just about any Thai dish you can think of. During my last... More

Authentic Thi restaurant with great food and very reasonable prices. I come here once a year and my friends here turned me on to this place. We order about 7 items and then gorge ourselves - it's very good. Pad thi is excellent and also their curry chicken (non spicy) has a great flavor. There isn't alot of room in... More

Good food but I think their branch in the valley is better. Don't know if it's the cramped atmosphere. It seemed like a good idea to try it. Perhaps we did not order the right stuff. Shrimp cakes was good but very expensive. Parking is tough but we managed to get street parking a block away. Will probably go to... More

The restaurant is little and is not fancy at all. But the food here is really good! We were so lucky to find this place to have late dinner about 2am. I enjoyed my SPICY Pud-See-Ewe, Tom-Yum-Goong, and Thai-iced tea. The portions are BIG! The Tom-Yum-Goong has lots of shrimps and mushrooms and it is big enough for 2 ppl.... More

We had dinner here on the recommendation of Trip Advisor reviews, and as usual, we were not disappointed. My companion and I each had an appetizer and an entree and everything was delicious. The restaurant, in a small strip plaza, isn't much to look at, but it is clean and the service was friendly and fast. FYI - portions are... More

O.K. at first glance this little place is nothing to write home about...in a shabby strip-mall... tight parking... etc! But wait until you get inside and taste the food... OMG!!! There is no other place to eat Thai in Hollywood for our family. We use to live in Los Angeles, and eat here everytime we visit (twice a year), and... More

We ate in Samanluang cafe for lunch. We found the foods are goods and the price are ok. The service is decent coz I considered the cafe as canteen than cafe so no much complaint about the service as long as the foods are good and the price is inexpensive especially for tourist on budget. Still recommended

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
