Famous Chicken & Waffles

Another well-known, cult-status place in the LA area. I don't really eat fried chicken often, but theirs was delicious. Also had some red beans and rice and corn bread, both were really good. Their "famous" mac and cheese was ok. Food was worth a visit. Tip: you can't split checks. I'm from TX... read more

I was with my wife and two children and we entered Roscoe's at 10:30 am on July 20th. A host standing outside the restaurant heartily greeted us outside Roscoe's and led us to a table. The place was dark and dingy and the menus were a bit hard to read. A worker acknowledged us and dropped off some utensils. After... More

The restaurant was packed. But they get people in and out quickly. After waiting 45 minutes, my wife and I ordered the standard chicken and waffles. The chicken was a bit on the dry side. I like it that way, but my does not. The waffles were pretty good. A nice cinnamony taste. Loved the melted butter and not so... More

Overrated, had chicken and waffle. Chicken breast was dry. The waffle was OK but not worthy of all the hype. Service was also an issue. Extremely hot in the restaurant. Probably would not visit again.

We waited 75 minutes, although the staff told us it would be about a 35 minute wait. At one point, I was so hungry I walked down the street and found a "walk-up" restaurant which served the most amazing french fries for only $2.50. I returned to Roscoes and my family with time to spare. When we did get seated,... More

Roscoes house of chicken and waffles is always a stop of mine when in the alas area. Friendly staff & quick service, however the don't accept AMEX. I've had chicken & waffles at several places & I would say Roscoes is the best I've ever had, even better than Gladys Knights chicken and waffles located in Atlanta.

I honestly do not know how some of these places earn cult status by being so mediocre. The chicken is over cooked, not terribly, but still over cooked. The waffles are not crispy; rather, they are more like a soft chewy carb disc. There are literally hundreds of breakfast spots in the area that deserve more recognition and credit that... More

First time visitor and it was great! The chicken is great, the waffles are super-yummy, and so are the greens and mac and cheese. Yes, I had all of that in one setting. It was all so good :-)

No wait for a table as we went around 2pm, but once seated service was slow and very inattentive. We had the Obama Special which is a waffle with 3 chicken wings, and was very tasty. Prices are moderate and food was served hot. I had seen this place on a "best of" food show so gave it a try.... More

My first trip to LA and I had to try this! Definitely lives up to the hype! The "Obama Special" is just enough food to keep you full until dinner. Thank you to kind security guard for offering to take pics for us. Great service too :) They really need to open a location inside LAX. They would do AMAZING... More
