good as always

This place does not disappoint. I used to frequent this place when I lived in Hollywood and then it was closed for a bit due to fire. I visited LA for a conference and met up with girlfriends. I chose this place because it is a safe bet for good food- comforting without being heavy. Everyone... read more

Good choice for before or after the theater. The service was a little slow and took our server a long time to get our drinks. The food was good and the place is charming.

My mother insisted that we try Off Vine the next time we went to the theatre. We ate there before seeing the Phantom of the Opera. The setup is very cute and the staff is very friendly, but I felt that the price of the food did not match the quality. The food was good, just not $20 a plate... More

This restaurant is on the suggested dining list from the Pantages Theater and is a great reliable choice. Its a few blocks south of Hollywood Blvd, within easy walking distance of everything. Its located in an old house with about 1/3 of the seating outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather. As we were there early (6PM) service was super. The... More

Metered street parking. Full bar. Good hamburgers, good pizza. Very good asparagus dipped in batter. A stop for tourists who need to grab a bit. Also, there is a happy hour.

Excellent quality food for a great price (on Monday). Had a fantastic Filet Mignon for $17. Service was good, and the location is really non-Hollywood. It's in a house, with a great outdoor, private patio.

We requested a local dive to eat in as we prefer to try things. She got the local part right but not the dive part. It is a beautiful restored classic home. It was a full house at 4 o'clock and I think everyone was local. The food was phenomenal as was the service. Price was equal to qualify and... More

Wanted a restaurant near the Pantages Theater. We were pleasantly surprised with our meals. All were excellent plus we ordered a soufflé to share for dessert which topped off our meals. The workers were all very friendly and helpful. We left satisfied and easily made our show time.

Marvelous food and service at half-price on Mondays is an extraordinary value. Charming venue and easy valet parking.

My husband and I made early dinner reservations through Open Table on a weekday. We requested a table on the outdoor patio and were seated promptly at a nice table under the vines. Service was excellent - water glasses filled without asking - and food was very good. I felt the wine pour was generous in a large glass -... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
