I went here with a friend of mine in need of a good american steak. The neighborhood isn´t the best and what seemed like a good idea after reading reviews online was more and more in doubt as we came closer. However - we quickly found parking across the street and got a seat after only waiting a couple of... More

A co-worker suggested Taylor's and we went for lunch. Beautiful traditional steak house setting, lovely booths, nice bar, efficient servers, wonderful steaks. I want to go back soon.

I have been dining at Taylors for years. This is one of those classic steakhouses that is a must if you are in the Wilshire area of Los Angeles. The interior has that old charm with red booths and wood paneling and dim lighting. The service is also excellent. I usually order the tri tip steak medium rare and it... More

It had been almost 15 years since I dined at Taylors. A good friend suggested a trip down memory lane. Last night 8 of us feasted, toasted each other and had a wonderful time. They put us in the private wine room, We brought great wines--old Rhones, Bordeaux, Calicab, SuperTuscan and Australian Shiraz--perfect juice for a steak dinner--with bookends of... More

I had dinner with my friends at this restaurant and when we left (after restaurant closure) I left my phone on the table. There were only 3 costumers left in the restaurant. I live 1.1 miles away and when I realized I had left my phone behind I drove back to pick it up (I tried calling but because the... More

Last place I had dinner during my trip to LA, right after I drove to LAX to fly back home to the east coast. The waiters were friendly and very polite. The atmosphere was very laid back and comfortable. Decor was old school style and I didnt mind it. The food was pretty good and when you take the price... More

We had the top of the line steak, which was excellent especially for the price. The atmosphere is old fashioned and what one would expect. The service was excellent. We asked to be seated on the first floor of the restaurant, which is more atmospheric, and got what we wanted after a short cocktail wait. It can be a little... More

After going to Taylor's almost every month in the 1990s, I was disappointed when I visited last month, October 2013, after an opera performance. The place was packed and we had to wait, which was not surprising on a Saturday, but my anticipation was let down when the culotte steak was impossible to chew. I even told the server about... More

Wasn’t too sure what to expect as we knew nothing about Taylor's Steakhouse prior to arriving but were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted promptly by a very welcoming bartender and seated within minutes. Our server asked if we had dined with them before and went over a few things after we told him we had not. His recommendations were excellent... More

Steakhouses these days all seem to have set their prices above $60 for their top cuts. So when I see a place below $30, I wonder, "upon which breed of dog I shall be dining"? I am, of course, joking, but Taylor's has, somehow, managed to produce quality food at reasonable prices. My salad was crisp, fresh and well made,... More
