Don not let its appearance fool you: Exotic and great food

This is an unassuming place to experience brilliantly nice and generous Peruvian food, especially if you like a bit spicy and exotic seafood.

A great place to taste the real deal. Although the facility is very clean and service is at it's best, the waiting was 70 minutes at 5:30pm. It is a small place with 10 tables, but worth the wait. No "Cancha" a very typical corn from Peru used on ceviches.

We took the last table in this little restaurant located in a busy strip mall. Parking was tough to find and if you are lucky enough to find a spot in their lot be careful because it will be a tight squeeze. It's not a fancy place but still worth a visit. We ordered 4 dishes and shared. All were... More

I lived in Los Angeles for 18 years and never ate here and finally got to taste this incredible food on a recent visit to LA. Now I wish I had known about it all the time I was living here! I had never had Japanese Peruvian food and I love the combination of flavors. The portions are huge! My... More

If you have never tried Peruvian food, you need to try their Lomo Saltado. If you love Peruvian food, you need to try their Lomo Saltado. If you love Lomo Saltado, you need to try their Lomo Saltado. And tell me that that it's not the best you've ever had! It's not the french fries, beef, onions, tomatoes or rice... More

I like to go here during the off times to avoid the lines or do takeout. The lomo is the best around. Probably the best outside of Peru!

If you are looking for authentic Peruvian food, this is the place in LA. My husband used to come here often when he worked in Hollywood. He spent seven months in Peru, and says this food is the real deal. Their ceviche (cebiche) is outstanding, and their portions are large. (Peruvian ceviche is not the same thing as Mexican ceviche.)... More

While it has been years since I have eaten at Mario's, I remember it fondly and tell others about at least once a month. We used to eat here at least every other week for a few years. I remember Saltado de Pollo and the amazing Sopa Sustancia. I also remember the green spicy sauce being incredible but can't for... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
