Fancy Mexican grub in the heart of East Los Angeles. The tastiest thing in the menu happens to be a side order: the refried beans! I wish I could order them as a main entree: a giant bowl of beans with hand made tortillas and fresh salsa on the side, that'd be amazing. more

I enjoyed the overall experience at Serenata. Food was good, not amazing, but very nice and the service was great. No real complaints but a word of caution. I had been to La Serenata twice before, once in the original Boyle Heights location and the second time at the Santa Monica location...so I felt safe in suggesting the newly renovated Boyle Heights location for a holiday dinner for several friends.
