We struggled with this review. We came to Café Beaujolais wanting to like it. The setting and menu are very authentic, as one would expect with French owners and French servers. You can’t fault that part of the equation and the service is really excellent. The sad part was the food. We had such great expectations so couldn’t believe how... More

you must get there before 7:30 for night they don't accept reservations! This cozy little place in Eagle Rock has delicious French food cooked expertly with quality ingredients. My wife had escargot and a fantastic rack of lamb in mustard sauce) and she and a companion agreed it was to die for (sorry about the expression). I had fantastic french... More

My GF found this place on Yelp as we had a party to go to nearby, but we wanted to eat first, and it is not our regular stomping ground. This place is awesome, with great food and ambience. No reservations accepted on Friday or Saturday, and on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm we had to wait at the bar... More

A group of us went to this restaurant last night and it was fabulous. Everyone loved their food from the escargot to the chocolate mousse. I had the special chicken and the sauce was pure HEAVEN, I even used the bread to get every bite off the plate. Everyone's plate was clean! My son speaks French (alittle) and all the... More

This place had been on our radar for a while now based on the numerous positive reviews. However, as we live nearly 40 miles south we hadn't gotten a chance to visit. After today's meal, I am certain we will return. The restaurant has an informal and inviting decor, dimly lit, with posters of old French advertisements adorning the walls.... More

Tasted authentic to me. My companions and I had the specials for the evening--coq au vin and I had a fish with mustard sauce. I asked what the waiter recommended for wine by the glass and took his suggestion; I'm glad I did. The place is casual and it gets noisy as the room fills up. The next time we... More

My daughter took us to this place for dinner. The food is really good but service is even better. Even on a busy Friday night, and full place, somebody is still around to refill your glass. Small place and somewhat loud. Word of advice, if you would like a romantic place, then this is not your place. But if you're... More

Great place to celebrate with friends! Waiters are fun, atmosphere is a bit festive, and the food is quite good. The Halibut is fantastic (my wife had it) - even if I considered its parmesan crust to be cheating!

The façade is unassuming but don’t be fooled. Café Beajolais is as close to a real French Bistro as you’ll get in Los Angeles. C’est tout Parisien and who would have thought it would be in Eagle Rock (becoming a very hip area). The food is authentic French and so are the friendly waiters! From the Escargot to the Gratinée... Returned to Cafe Beaujolais after a number of years and it did not disappoint. The food and the service were excellent. Four of us enjoyed the avocado appetizer, lamb chops, and steak but the star entree was a special chicken en croute stuffed with spinach in a sweet and sour sauce. The beet salad was just OK - not much... More
