The Dresden's dining room was a location in one of the last "Mad Men" episodes, it's about as authentic as you can get. The ambience is retro-liciously classy, and often overlooked in favor of the kitschy bar scene. After all, what can compete with the infamous Marty and Elayne? The filet mignon, that's what. With their signature garlic bread, salad,... More

This was one of my favorite haunts and was so surprised to find that it is still there and the food is still just as great as years ago, hard to find restaurants like this, they usually go down hill with age. It looks the same from the outside, which may be disappointing but the minute you walk in it... More

Isn’t it cool when you go a great venue and it hits you that you’ve seen it somewhere before? Well, this is ‘one of those places’. Established in 1954, the Dresden Lounge has been serving some of the best VIP's the best steaks in Los Angeles. The restaurant its self has been featured in a few movies such as the... More

You sit in a dimly lit, white banquette lounge. It is what I remember from 50's films. You feel compelled to order a martini! We didn't, though. Instead we had the best prime rib I have ever eaten; thick, pink and tender. Of course it came with a bake potato with all the trimmings. If you want fusion or modern... More

This place is know for being in the movie "Swingers". Friends of ours in LA took us here for drinks one night. We had a great time. Get there before the talent goes on to grab a table. Once they start the place is completely packed and you will be standing for ever. Our friends knew this and made sure... More

This place has been around forever so I'm surprised it has so few reviews. And I'm afraid to review it for fear it'll become too popular for it's own good. The restaurant was empty when we had dinner there on a Wednesday night, but we didn't mind at all. We basically had the place to ourselves, the service was great,... More

Loungy, campy piano bar in the cool old part of LA. All ages here - mostly young hipster types - but don't let that scare you away;) It's a fun place to have a few drinks, here some old classics and pretend that Dean Martin could walk through to door at any moment. Good times.

My wife and I went on a Saturday night with high hopes but were disappointed. The place has a great look and vibe and all the staff seemed really nice but the food was mediocre. I had the chicken marsala, she had the scallops & abalone, but both were coffee shop or cafeteria quality -- not terrible, but plain, and... More

I had tickets for a concert at the Greek, so I prepaid to eat here, and take the shutte to the Greek Theatre, and it wasn't cheap for the "Dine and Ride". Even though I'll include Dine and Ride in the review, this review is specifically for the Dresden. Finding the place was quite easy, but that was my only... More

Didn't eat at the restaurant, instead we went to have a drink and see Marty and Elayne. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was superb and the guest singers also excellent. Other posters have commented that the place is Old School but the truth is you could spend $2million on a new fit out of a bar and not get... More
