I LOVE sushi and I have eaten it in a lot of great sushi restaurants (LA, NY, SF, Tokyo) This particular row of Ventura Blvd in the San Fernando valley has many fine sushi restaurants but Asanebo was out of this world DIVINE. EVERY piece was exceptional, toro, sockeye salmon, yellow tail, halibut.....WOW. Truly delicious. will definitely go back again.... More

My Husband surprised me with a visit to this wonderful Restaurant. The Sushi was some of the Best we have ever had (and we love High End Sushi).. We are very fussy about where we try and we were not dis-appointed. The wait staff were knowledgable about the food they were giving us. We enjoyed the five course Menu, a... More

If you want some real sushi, like from japan, come here. If you want rolls and Americanized bull, don't come here. I am beyond picky, and have never been disappointed. Staff is top notch, never waiting on anything ever. I would eat here everyday if i could afford it. Conch is a must have dish, if it is your first... More

decided on this venue for dinner after reading the reviews here, and we were not disappointed. we sat at the bar right in front of the sushi station and chatted with (I assume) the head chef (and owner, according to the waitress). we ate a Japanese tomato starter served with crab meat in a ponzu broth; fried green peppers; soft... As others mentioned, the restaurant is really small, but they do take reservations. The sushi is fresh and delicious. We ate sashimi at the bar, uni, sweet shrimp, jumbo clam, scallop, etc. The bill was high and we ended up eating a 2nd dinner at home, but it was a fantastic treat.

We went here on a whim after a day of driving around. We waited outside on the benches for about 30 mins, and were then sat at the sushi bar. What a treat. The daily specials (fish I had never heard of) were delectable. The staff is eager to give recommendations "Do you like yellow tail? Then I would recommend..."... More

Good Japanese food is very competitive in Los Angeles with many good spots. Yet this place stands out as one of the best. There is a section of the menu with House Signature Dishes and they almost made me tear up they were so amazing. The Yellowtail with spicy Yuzu/soy, the seafood ceviche, the Chilled steamed Uni....blah blah blah. Unique... More

Went last night for the first time. Do not let the location deter you, this is a great sushi restaurant Fish is so fresh, you can tell the owner gets first dibs. Service is wonderful. Kanpachi sashimi dish was crazy good. But the Toro was even better. Tempura fresh corn was outstanding. Do not come here for California Rolls, this... More
