Best Brisket in the SFV; delicious....

The service can be spotty but the brisket has always been excellent. Sometimes you get wonderful service and sometimes not, depends upon how busy they are and who is on staff. I have eaten at this place many times or have gotten take-out and I stick with the brisket; it's very good. They also... read more

For years I went here and then we moved. A couple days ago I ordered takeout, the combination, chicken, beef ribs and baby back ribs. They didn't get the order right, which I discovered when I got home. I called the Manager, Cindy, who satisfied me completely re the mistake. Actually, beyong satisfaction. The owner of Hogly Wogly should be... More

We went for a late lunch specifically because my husband was craving BBQ & trying to eat more healthfully the brisket seemed the best choice. We shared one meal with coleslaw & baked beans. It was more than enough. The service was fast & friendly. We passed on the homemade sweet potato pie.

Yeah, it's way up on Sepulveda just before Roscoe - but distance should be no object when you're on a mission for good BBQ. The restaurant is basic and not large. No matter where you sit, you're not far from the kitchen or the cashier. Booths are comfortable. Rest rooms are outside - and super-clean, which is a good sign.... More

Stopped by and it looked like a bomb had gone off. EVERY table was filled with the nastiest dirty dishes you have ever seen. The five booths that had people in them looked at me with the saddest puppy dog eyes ever, as if to say 'we've been here forever.' I stood at the door 2-3 minutes and after no... More

Ok, I had LOW expectations because I've experienced other bbq joints in SoCal that have been disappointing...but this is actually pretty good once you get past the grease and liquid "something" at the bottom of the bag I found soaking through to my car seat. I tried the 2 way combo dinner of brisket and hot links for $21.95. The... More

Twenty years ago, this was an outstanding barbecue restaurant with great food, where the sauce was the boss, and a very friendly staff. Alas it has eroded.

We had been on a cruise for two weeks with fine dinning. So we asked at our hotel and they suggested this place, it's great on entering a lady shouts "table for two, sit anywhere " she must have done this at least a dozen times it was classical diner at its best. We had a combo of chicken and... More

Sad do say, it took me more than 40 years before I stopped at Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas Barbecue in the middle of the San Fernando Valley. Traffic on Sepulveda Boulevard moves quickly near Roscoe and I couldn't see any parking spaces. There is a free parking lot, but I never saw it until a month ago. What I... More
