Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ...hmmm good

Ok, I had LOW expectations because I've experienced other bbq joints in SoCal that have been disappointing...but this is actually pretty good once you get past the grease and liquid "something" at the bottom of the bag I found soaking through to my car seat. I tried the 2 way combo dinner of... read more

Twenty years ago, this was an outstanding barbecue restaurant with great food, where the sauce was the boss, and a very friendly staff. Alas it has eroded.

We had been on a cruise for two weeks with fine dinning. So we asked at our hotel and they suggested this place, it's great on entering a lady shouts "table for two, sit anywhere " she must have done this at least a dozen times it was classical diner at its best. We had a combo of chicken and... More

Sad do say, it took me more than 40 years before I stopped at Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas Barbecue in the middle of the San Fernando Valley. Traffic on Sepulveda Boulevard moves quickly near Roscoe and I couldn't see any parking spaces. There is a free parking lot, but I never saw it until a month ago. What I... More

Without heading to Texas this is some of the best BBQ you'll find on the West Coast. Brisket was moist and tender, pulled pork had excellent flavor and the hot links were some of the best I've ever had. Meat doesn't need sauce, but it's a very good sauce to accompany the meat. Portions are very large and if you... More

Doctor Hogly Wogly's will never get my business again. I talked to someone on the phone there and was coming to make a large order for a party. I called around 9:00 and talked to a woman working there and I asked very clearly, are you open until 10pm. THEY ARE NOT! I was told that because it was slow,... More

When I was in college at USC, this was the greatest rib place in LA. We would drive from downtown to Dr Hogly Wogly's just for the ribs. And last night, I was staying about 15 minutes away and went back. The beans are just as good as I remembered. The bread is the same. Even the fries were really... More

My dermatologist Loves this restaurant and raves about the beans and bread, so we decided to go as we were wanting BBQ. Also I have to go see her so wanted to say we had been there, When we walked in there was a heavy set young guy with a big plate of beef ribs who had sauce all over... More
