Was here about two years ago and the food was very good. The rematch was a disappointment. The food was not as good, the carne asada had very little flavor, the hot sauce tasted like ketchup. I have been going to this restaurant since 1966 and even though I no longer live in the area, when I visit and bring friends, I can count on a great dining experience. The ambience is festive and colorful, the food is just frankly delicious, and they even have some healthy choices! The service is attentive and friendly. I'll definitely... More

My wife and I ate at the El Coyote restaurant in April 2015, and we really enjoyed our meal. El Coyote has been located in the same location forever. I used to eat there all the time when I was in college, but have not been there for a good 10 years. My wife and I were recently in the... More

Well let me start by saying that this was my pick for going to lunch at. I lost out and we ate at Canters deli, which was very good. I did however talk the rest of my party into going to the El Coyote to have a beer afterwards. If I am ever in the area again I will definatly... More

No wonder they have been around for 80+ years, this place has it dialed in. We were seated promptly in the small (but very nice) outdoor patio. Chips and salsa were put in the table, even before I took off my hat. (BTW, am I the only person who takes off their cap to eat anymore?) A friendly waitress showed... More

This was the first restaurant I went to when I moved to LA 25 years ago. Although I no longer live there I go to this restaurant every time I go back to visit. Their Margaritas are the bomb and so are the green corn tamales. Also, you never know what actor or musician you will see there. Love the... More

el coyote has been around since 1931. that says a lot for a restaurant in l.a. the décor is festive/kitchy. which is part of the appeal, as it has been that way decades. the menu is simple , so you don't need 30 minutes do decide what you want. everything is good. yummy margaritas. free chips/salsa. which is yummy. this... It is one of the oldest Mexican restaurant's in Los Angeles, mostly because it's cheap for the food and the drinks.... I have to tell you I rarely go here, except when friends want to go for cheap fun. I would suggest El Cholo who has better food and drinks, although it is not as close to El Coyote to... More

I was visiting Los Angeles last month, a local recommended we try out El Coyote, and I am so glad we did! The food was amazing for the price and the staff was incredible. We were reconnecting with family friends that we hadn't seen for several years. The visit was very special for us, and we ended up staying at... More

This is one of my niece's favorite place in LA area. Super margaritas, and I had one of the best burritos I had ever had. Fresh chips and salsa were delicious. We both had left overs, enough for another meal the next night. We were there on a late Sunday afternoon, October 5th and it was not crowded yet. Service... More
