It is one of the oldest Mexican restaurant's in Los Angeles, mostly because it's cheap for the food and the drinks.... I have to tell you I rarely go here, except when friends want to go for cheap fun. I would suggest El Cholo who has better food and drinks, although it is not as close to El Coyote to... More

I was visiting Los Angeles last month, a local recommended we try out El Coyote, and I am so glad we did! The food was amazing for the price and the staff was incredible. We were reconnecting with family friends that we hadn't seen for several years. The visit was very special for us, and we ended up staying at... More

This is one of my niece's favorite place in LA area. Super margaritas, and I had one of the best burritos I had ever had. Fresh chips and salsa were delicious. We both had left overs, enough for another meal the next night. We were there on a late Sunday afternoon, October 5th and it was not crowded yet. Service... More

I've been visiting El Coyote since 1972 and while they still have all the old favorites the menu has kept up with the times. First off the Margaritas are excellent. Pair that with some fresh guacamole and you're off to a good start. We're not too adventurous, when we find something we like we keep ordering it. My go to... More

If you want to have a good time, drink large and inexpensive Margaritas in a lively and hip atmosphere, come here, but don't expect the food to be good. The food here makes Acapulco's look gourmet. You can't even call it Mexican. More like what an American who never went to Mexico would cook what he thought was Mexican food.... More

One word - margarita! I only needed one. I love, love, LOVE when I get a great drink at a good price at a restaurant. I love Cazadores tequila, and the waitress allowed me to substitute the reposado for the anejo and didn't charge me extra. I ordered the rib eye, which came with rice and beans. The meat was... This place has been around for ever. My first visit (over Labor Day) They have been around a long time for a good reason, me thinks. Plenty of free parking before 4pm (valet after that) We were greeted as soon as we walked it. The place has a nasty old musty smell that I have to imagine the people working... More

I actually really like this place but like so many businesses they are really cutting down portion sizes and some quality. The service is good here, the decor cheezy but fun. The problem, as stated above is when you compare the place today with what it was a few years ago. The cups for salsa are tiny. They are the... More
