Great food and margaritas in a very old school restaurant. Love the colorful waitress dresses. We live on the other side of LA but always try to visit El Coyote when we are in the neighborhood. Parking can be hard, I got a ticket on the side street one time.

This is about the fourth time I've been here and like the previous visits, their scratch margaritas are outstanding! Strong as hell and if you have more than three, you'd better have a dd. We sat in the bar like usual and the nachos I ordered were nasty! Completely drenched in sour cream and guacamole. They were a runny mess.... More

Our group was staying in the area and El Coyote was highly recommended to us. We ended up going to this restaurant 3 out of 5 nights! Excellent food at a reasonable price, great service and lots of atmosphere! We loved every bite and will gladly return to El Coyote on our next trip to West Hollywood!

We used to dine there regularly when we lived in LA. We went back after 30 years, and it is only similar in decor. The patio is under construction. The ladies still wear the big hoop skirt Mexican outfits, but sadly, the food pales in comparison to it's historic best. We used to hold it up on a pedestal to... More

El Coyote has been serving LA since the 1920's. Drinks are great and the food is a standard must have. Try the No 1 Combo, or the Tostada, or both, but be hungry

Loved it! I came to LA and went looking for good Mexican food. It took me till tonight for a friend to bring me here. It's only 750mt from my apartment! Best Mexican of the fortnight. Tamales were huge as were all the portions and the prices are low. It's an icon for a reason!

I went to the restaurant with a friend as I had read about it in a magazine article than named it a 'top Mexican restaurant'. Having lived in Mexico I found the food very average, not poor, just average. I felt ripped off at having to pay $3.50 to park in their own carpark under the guises of 'Valet Parking'.... More
