Great patty melt at Canter's

I ate at Canter's Deli recently and was impressed. Reasonable prices, great food, and very good service. Plus, they brought us lots of pickles! I would recommend it.

Obama has eaten here. Doesn't make it great but still O.K. While I am not a connoisseur of Kosher food I know how a Reuben should taste. The deli has some atmosphere, the food was average, the service quick, friendly, and substantial. The prices a little reasonable. The server asked how I wanted the burger cooked, which I admire any... More

Or do you expect to order a cheeseburger in a kosher deli? Having grown up in LA, I've been to Canter's countless times over the years. It's probably never actually been the best (Art's in Studio City was until it changed hands a few years back, and Brent's is probably better overall today), but it's still a classic. The menu... I've now been to Canter's for every meal: breakfast, lunch and dinner. I just love going there - mostly for the atmosphere and the staff. It's got a throwback look and vibe and it's fun! I love ther Rueben, it's the best in Los Angeles. All the sweets are great, especially the coffee cakes. Have pickles with dinner and bottomless... More

Love this place. My wife took me here as a part of my birthday trip. I love Liver and Onios and I was very happy I ordered. portions are huge so be sure to be hungry. Matzo soup, pastries, dessert, everything we ordered was good. Love the place and the history surround it. Restaurant has a big parking just in... More

The menu was tremendous and the atmosphere was just what you would expect from an deli that his been around as long as they have. We went on a Sunday morning and in one corner was the typical "Men's Club" brunch taking place. At the next table over the conversation was about real estate deals (worth millions). Your hear just... Time stood still with the decor. I asked myself how can this place make money being open 24 hours and the answer is the food. It was old fashioned home cooking. The hash they serve at breakfast was definitely not canned. It was fresh and the best I have tasted. The potato pancakes with sour cream and apple sauce was... More

canters has everything, especially "local color." while bascially a "jewish" deli, it is transformed into a late night hang out by young people looking for a good all night eatery. the menu is encylopedic and the food good. I have been coming to this restaurant for 50 years now, and despite the run down neighborhood, difficulty in parking, and periodic... More

Corned Beef on Rye - THE best we've ever had in recent memory... tender, flavorful and yet lean. The Cobb Salad for very good. Service - Greg did an outstanding job, especially with a toddler at the table. You should go here!

The hop on/hop off bus guide told us about this place, a Los Angeles institution, open 24 hours a day, and a hangout for Gun n Roses back in the day when they were playing the clubs. And right around the corner from the Palihotel where we were staying, so we dropped in for breakfast before my husband took off... More
