I have been to Canter's every time I have visited Los Angeles and can't say enough about the food. This was my wife's first visit and she too fell in love with the food. The menu is a little pricey but you get more than enough food. If you don't eat a lot of food you may want to consider... More

We went here for breakfast on our last day in LA. The breakfast we had was delicious, although my breakfast panini was supposed to come on challah bread and it did not. The matzoh ball soup was pretty good, and the deli and bakery items that we spied on the way out also looked quite good. Would definitely be a... More

after arriving hungry, we head to this place directly from LAX, not very close, but this place was hyped before we got there! the service was terrible. we went to the washroom and they took away all our drinks and starters. The food took a long time but they were busy. But the food was sooo goood. We had the... More

Steve and I dined at Canter's Deli because it is world famous as a rock n roll hang out and Rodney Bingenheimer's local haunt. This place is so amazing even the bathrooms are retro!!! The menu and the atmosphere were both exceptional. The food is so delicious that if I lived in LA I would need a mouth guard! They... More

Throughout our short trip to LA, we've hit quite a few LA food landmarks and this is obviously one of them. Canter's has been there since 1924 and you could tell. It had the look and feel of old Hollywood which is pretty cool, I thought. Service was good. We had a very nice, quick, giddy waitress. Food was good... More

At an established Jewish restaurant you would think that a Pastrami on rye would be a no brainer. Wrong. This used to be good many years ago but it would appear that by placing photos of Obama's visit to their restaurant they assume they can get away with bad and very poor food quality. My pastrami was sliced paper thin... More

I had gotten a Groupon for Canter's Deli so I decided to go. I pass by a number of other deli restaurants so my expectations were high. Also, Canter's is a Los Angeles landmark. While I wasn't disappointed, per se, my expectations were not met. I had the Canter's Fairfax sandwich (corned beef, pastrami, on rye). My wife had the... More

What a disappointment having grown up on Canter's Deli and longing for an overdue meal not having visited in a couple of years. Well, simply put the service 'sucked'! (Sucked would be terminology describing a level less than poor.) More importantly, the quality of food and in particular both the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches had deteriorated to the most... A high point of being on Fairfax next to the CBS Studio is going to Canter's for the pastrami. I'm certain their other dishes are quite good, but I only order one thing - it's the best pastrami sandwich this side of the Hudson River! Be sure to save room for the pickle!

This was a stop that was convenient to our touring. It brought back many memories of a typical deli from the past. The older you are, the more this place will seem familiar! The food was good--typical huge deli menu.
