this place is a landmark. the décor is dated. so what? the food is very good. I get back to zabars as often as I can, but this is a great fix. don't expect to have your butt kissed here. it's a deli! love the attitude, and staff. gruff, but efficient. we come here almost once a week. Candice, and... More

Well priced, tasty deserts and fresh bagels. Parking gets pretty full but is free if you find a spot and get your ticket stamped inside.

The place looks like you've stepped back in time.. Some of the staff have probably worked there since the place opened. They are all very friendly and nice. The food is good quality diner food. I had the carrot cake as well, and it was extremely decedent. Moist and creamy frosting. A bit too much frosting, so I scraped some... More

If you are staying or visiting the area you must visit the legendary Canters Deli. Its worth it just to walk around the place and look at the walls. The place is full of history with so many famous visits from famous faces. The place hasn't been touched in years which will either gross you out a bit because it... More

I'm not sure it quite lived up to some of the hype in the reviews but it's worth going if you're in the area as we were. I wouldn't set out especially to go here but we were pretty close by visiting the LA County Museum of Art and shopping so we went here for lunch. My girlfriend ate the... More

A Jewish girl loves a good matzo ball, or a Reuben on rye. I expected something yummy and pleasant from Canter's but the food was completely bland. A bummer and a let down.

Very extensive menu with lots of comfort food. The waiters are personable. Check out the old cash register.

My friends and I went to the Canter's-Fairfax location for some late dinner/snack. 1 of my buds had done some research about the place and wanted to check it out. There's was plenty of room and we got seated at a booth. I liked the 60s retro-ness feel of the place. But once the waiter came, things kind of went... More

This place has been around forever (1931) and made famous by numerous celebrities including Guns & Roses. However the place is stuck in the past – all of the waiters look to be over 65 and mostly men. Parking is very easy and free, just be sure to get your coupon stamped while paying. I had the Pastrami Dog –... More
