Lots of real deli foods

Many restaurants give you a big slice of bread or roll and little contents. Canters gives you a sandwich which is stacked with the meat and virtually no bread or roll. For a modest amount I had a 1/2 turkey sandwich, potato salad, bowl of matzo ball soup. The matzo ball was delicate and very... read more

Basically its a deli that is opened 24 hours but that doesn't even touch it. Great staff with positive attitudes. Delicious baked goods besides.

Great deli sandwiches, breakfast all day and fabulous pastries in a diner that dates back several decades. Nothing fancy just good service and food in a comfortable, funky atmosphere. Matzo ball soup a little flat and not as good as I remember

Pastrami in very tasty and big, kinda like the prices. It is a bit more spendy than you would expect. The bakery had so many choices and new and traditional items alike. They offer a sample and had samples out to try. I would go back for the bakery and maybe try a different sandwich and split it/share it with... More

Place is a little dated but that was part of the charm for me. As a newbie to the LA area, I am so glad my other NYC transplant friends introduced me to this "authentic" NYC type deli with great and friendly service! Delicious truly lean pastrami and corned beef; yummy rye bread, pickles, salads and white fish. We loved... More

This place has gone down the last few years. Both dining rooms are noisy (the second is separated by a wooden lattice from the loud bar next door (where you go to the restrooms, actually). The pastrami has sugar, the beans have sugar, even the lame beet borscht is sweetened. The servings are small. I had some pasta that was... More

We went to Canters, my family said we had to go, after a music event, so late in the evening. The menu takes days to read, but just go straight to the pastrami. I figured I should order what I love in a place that is supposed to be so good, and I am telling you, it is that good.... More

I had the pleasure of dining at Canter's Deli recently with my husband, daughter, and son who recently moved to Los Angeles. We went in for a quick dinner before plans for a comedy show nearby. Having been to places like Katz's Deli, & Carnegie Deli in NYC, where the 'strami sandwich is considered sacred grounds, and Harold's Deli in... More

We ate here last week and the food was good with generous portions. I do think the prices were a little high for sandwiches though.
