I'm not sure it quite lived up to some of the hype in the reviews but it's worth going if you're in the area as we were. I wouldn't set out especially to go here but we were pretty close by visiting the LA County Museum of Art and shopping so we went here for lunch. My girlfriend ate the... More

A Jewish girl loves a good matzo ball, or a Reuben on rye. I expected something yummy and pleasant from Canter's but the food was completely bland. A bummer and a let down.

Very extensive menu with lots of comfort food. The waiters are personable. Check out the old cash register.

My friends and I went to the Canter's-Fairfax location for some late dinner/snack. 1 of my buds had done some research about the place and wanted to check it out. There's was plenty of room and we got seated at a booth. I liked the 60s retro-ness feel of the place. But once the waiter came, things kind of went... More

This place has been around forever (1931) and made famous by numerous celebrities including Guns & Roses. However the place is stuck in the past – all of the waiters look to be over 65 and mostly men. Parking is very easy and free, just be sure to get your coupon stamped while paying. I had the Pastrami Dog –... More

I took my daughter to Canters yesterday. Amazingly, she was a Canters virgin. She loved it. I had Lox and bagels and chopped liver. She had Liz scramble. I want to thank Anna for the wonderful service. No request was too much and she made sure we had everything we needed. Such a gracious patient lady. Thank you Anna.

I have eaten at Canter's deli many times over the past 30 years. While a friend of mine was visiting from out of town she and I decided to go there for lunch. This deli is truly a Los Angeles institution, and if you are in the Fairfax district of LA you simply have to eat here. I have eaten... More

This was my first deli experience, and my go-to deli. Loved the shabby vintage decor, the sassy waitresses, the huge menu. Returned there recently, tasteless aquiver, and ordered the same sandwich I ordered there many years ago, where you get half a corned beef sandwich and half a pastrami sandwich. It looked as good as ever, and as challenging to... More

If Tripadvisor would let you review with just one word it would be "PERFECT" for Canter's. 1- open 24 hours 2-amazing food. 3-rock and roll and classic Hollywood intersect here 4- free parking. 5-paradise city. The staff is so friendly no matter when you show up. The food is always perfect and fast. Never disappointed in decades of coming here.... More

No visit to Los Angeles is complete without a visit to Canter's Deli. It's like stepping back in time. Original vintage decor, waitress's that look like they stepped out of a fifties movie & sensational traditional Jewish Deli food. My wife and I had arrived in LA a few days ahead of schedule and we stayed at the Beverly Hills... More
